They have the worst customer service ever. My son has been a member for almost 3 years. He started College this fall and does not have the time to go to the gym now, and frankly we doesn't have the extra money for the gym membership with the cost of college. I was informed that "There is nothing we can do" "your stuck with the membership" "what do you want me to do about it" "that's what a one year contract is" If this is how they treat their customers you better stay clear of them. You know sometimes people financial situation change. My husband is a retired Army Vet, he is on disability and the extra monthly expense does not help us out at all. Thanks Pennbriar for showing us how NOT to treat customers.
Review: In January 2015 I signed a 12 month couples contract with pennbriar athletic club for $60 a month. Before agreeing to this contract I took a tour with the director of marketing and memberships. We toured the gym and discuss the outdoor pool. I was debating leaving the gym I was at for this gym to have an indoor and outdoor pool option. I even informed the director I was happy to have a gym with an outdoor pool. There was no indication that it wasn't opening or wasn't working. This summer the outdoor pool failed to open. I recently went to the director of marketing and informed them I was upset and disappointed that I was never informed that it wasn't going to open and wanted out of my contract. I was told that I was not able to end a contract and that I was to find someone to take over my contract. I would not have gotten a membership there if I knew the pool wasn't opening. I was told the only ways I am getting out of my contract was a doctors excuse or if I was moving 25 miles or more away. I feel that I'm being generous by not asking for a full refund. I am simply just asking to be let out of a contract. I have written a letter to please end my contract as well.Desired Settlement: All I want is to end my contract and not be charged any further. Simply asking to end the contract now verse in January.
