Review: I purchased two (2) items on 2/17/16 at Pelton's Home Health Care and one (1) of the items, a Post Op Shoe, did not fit my Mother's foot correctly and caused her great discomfort when she tried it on so I went back to Pelton's on 2/23/16 and they said that the shoe was soiled on the inside. This was a totally ludicrous statement since all she did was try it on, the internal lining was completely untouched as was the sole of the shoe. They proceeded to tell me that my receipt stated "CONTAINS NON-REFUNDABLE ITEMS", I told them it does not indicate which item nor did anyone tell me such at the time of the sale. At the time of the sale, I shared with the sales clerk that both items were for my mom and I was hoping that it would relieve some of her pain, she never mentioned that the shoe was non refundable. I have the shoe which is completely brand new and I'd be happy to let someone inspect it. This policy is deceiving and is an unreasonable. The shoe cost $29.99 and should be refunded. They should have told me at the time of the sale, I would've gladly accepted a store credit but they said the return was not an option. This home health care carries a lot of items that are used for elderly and/or handicapped individuals, they are taking complete advantage of that population. I no longer will accept a store credit and would like a full refund. I have shopped there for many years and am completely disappointed at their service.Desired Settlement: Full refund mailed to me. I would like the refund to come from the Revdex.com because I do not wish for that business to have my home address.

Response:
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. As a
business that has been providing products and services to take care
people for over 216 years we take complaints very seriously. As a
company that deals with medical equipment and supplies we have to stand
up to more rigorous regulations for the sale and return of certain
products all which are for the safety of our customers. As a result we
have a non returnable item policy. I have attached a copy of the
receipt that fits the customers date a purchase and product and a copy
of our non returnable item policy which is in plain sight on our front
counter. We care about our customers satisfaction and safety. For
our customer's inconvenience we are willing to provide a 20% discount on
her next purchase. Please see attached files:Photograph of cash register area showing non returnable item policy. CashRegNonReturn.JPGNon
Returnable Item Polity and Receipt (Please note receipt was looked up
by date and product with information provided by customer in complaint)NonReturnPolicy+Recpt.pdf

I am rejecting this response because the information was not posted in plain sight nor did anyone make me aware of this policy. The sales clerk was well aware that the purchase was for my mother who was not with me. This is not a reasonable response. The receipt had a stamp that said "contains non-returnable items", I had no idea which item they were referring to in addition this was stamped on my receipt and placed in the bag without me seeing it until my return. This is a very sneaky process and gives the appearance of taking advantage of the elderly. I absolutely will not accept anything less than a full refund.
Sincerely,
