read the Candidate Handbook. The Handbook states that candidates who wish to reschedule an exam should, “candidates should call Pearson VUE at (800) 274-at least forty-eight (48) hours before the examination to change or cancel a reservationCandidates who change or cancel a reservation with proper notice may either transfer their fees to a new reservation or request a refundCandidates who change or cancel their reservations without proper notice will forfeit the examination feeRefunds for credit/debit cards are immediate, while refunds for electronic checks and vouchers will be processed in two to three (2-3) weeksCandidates are individually liable for the full amount of the examination fee once a reservation has been made, whether paid individually or by a third party.” According to the complaint it was the candidate’s intent to reschedule his exam, unfortunately he did not complete the scheduling process all the way to the end. Pearson VUE would like to refund the candidate his exam fee as a courtesy gesture of goodwillPearson VUE therefore considers this matter resolved and respectfully requests that you close this complaint with notation of timely response and proper handling of the underlying incident

has no discretion to alter or ignore NCSBN policy regarding its testing policies. When a candidate is approved by NCSBN to register for a test they are provided with an NCLEX Candidate Bulletin (which is also downloadable from NCSBN or our website). A copy of this bulletin containing NCSBN policies can be obtained at http://www.pearsonvue.com/nclex/. This candidate did not take her exam before the day validity dates set by the IN Board of Nursing expiredPearson VUE provided the candidate with registration details and notifications each time she rescheduled her appointment. The email notifications sent to the candidate included the following: “Your NCLEX examination registration will remain open for a 365-day time period during which a board of nursing/regulatory body (BON/RB) may determine your eligibilityThe time period begins when the BON/RB receives your registration from the test serviceOnce you are made eligible, you will receive your Authorization to Test (ATT)The 365-day time period will end at this point and you must take your examination within the validity dates designated on your ATT.” The authorization to test letter sent to the candidate informed the candidate that she must schedule her exam within the validity dates listed on the letterThese validity dates cannot be extended for any reasonIn addition, to the above notices and emails sent to the candidate, the NCLEX Candidate Bulletin and NCSBN website support the aforementioned registration time limit and ATT validity date policyThe bulletin also states that, If you do not test within these dates you will have to reregister and pay another examination feeThere are no refunds for any reasonThe candidate spoke with a Pearson VUE representative to reschedule her exam appointment past her eligibility timeframe and was directed to the IN Board of NursingPearson VUE will not be extending a refund to the candidate. I feel that the State Real Estate exam by Pearson Vue is unjust. A female worker implied that I would be taking the test again before I took it!the pass rate is shocking low.I am not asking for a refund.

I am trying to take and pass my Journeyman Electrician test. The city does not give them anymore. Instead this private business does. Last December I took my written hours to the City of [redacted]o, and they approved for me to take my test. They gave me this companies information, and said I would have to contact them to take my test. Last week I finally felt prepared to take my test, so I called Pearson Vue to set up a test time. They made me give them $100.00 on my credit card over the phone before I was even allowed to set up a time to take my test. I set my test up for Monday April 14th 2014 at 11:15 AM. I was then sent to a prerecording with the items I was allowed and not allowed to bring. They said to bring a calculator, a reference of definitions, and a photo ID. These were the only things allowed into the test. Hats, phones, a wallet, or and written paper were not allowed. I showed up to the location on time and checked in. While checking in the front desk person took my ID, and started my check in. She asked what code book I brought with me. I said none because the only things allowed were a calculator, ID, and reference definitions. She got the instructor out who told me that I would not be allowed to take the test without a 2008 or 2011 NEC code book. I told him mine was from 2014 and in [redacted]. He said that would not be appropriate and told me to call their main office at the number I made the appointment with (877)234-6082. After several calls to this number, the company decided I was in the wrong and would not reset a test for me without another $100.00 fee plus another day of missed pay to take the class. I believe this company is fraudulent and I have no other options to get my licensing taken care of. Unfortunately, there isn't enough space here to spill the other details of this case, but I think I made the point I was trying to make. They did not let me take my test even though I was on time to the test with the materials they specified. The instructor acted like this happens all the time like it was a common place for them to rob people of money because they didn't prepare the test giver with enough information to arrive prepared. I would just like to be able to take the test I payed for.Final Consumer Response The manager for customer service from Pearson Vue called and left me a message on 5/9/14. He stated that he was aware of the situation, and has decided to refund my test amount of $100 for the failure in communication in April. They are also allowing me to take my test on May 5th.
