I just learned of Payless' bankruptcy and I have a gift card!
I would like to redeem my gift card. I thought gift card values were guaranteed by federal law. I'm surprised Payless did not leave a fund to pay back gift card holders. Do they have stores in other countries. Would I be able to use the card in any of those stores?

Either a check or a guarantee that I can purchase in other stores outside of the U.S.

I took the shoes back for a return as the sizes ere incorrect. I needed size *, the box said size but the shoes were actually size ***.

I spoke to the cashier and explained the problem. She said for me to search for the correct size. After doing so, there were no size shoes. I went back to the cashier and she refused to give me back the shoes that I paid for even though they were the incorrect shoes.

I left the store and filed a dispute with my bank ***. They told me since I approved the original purchase as listed above, they couldn't do anything.

Now, not only am I out 4 pairs of shoes, but the money as well.

Refund, accept to use the credit store in payless, transform the credit store to any other store.

I went with a $*** gift certificate and did not know that the business was going out of business. They told me that they could not honor my $*** gift certificate. I purchased the shoes anyway for a total of $***.

I went into a Payless Shoes store and had a Payless gift card with a balance on it that I wanted to use for my purchase. Payless told me they no longer accept gift cards as payment because they are in reorganization. I explained that this is a store-issued gift card that has money that has already been purchased via Payless. They said it didn't matter. They were no longer accepting gift card credit.I then called the corporate office while in the store, and they said the same thing. They would no longer be accepting these. I explained that this was not advertised anywhere that gift cards were no longer valid. The only way one would know that was to come into a store, which I had not for quite awhile.Is this even legal? How can a store stop taking their OWN gift cards?

Manager *** to myself and another gentleman in the store. When tried to call customer service, they hung up on me without saying anything.
I went in while they are having their out of business sale. I overheard the sales field being *** to another gentleman, snapping at him and being *** when he couldn't find the sales sign. Instead of going over and helping him, she snapped and said it is right in front of you, in a condescending tone. Then, when I had an issue that I thought I was buying dress shoes, and she said they were sandals, she snapped as t me and said she was looking straight at the sign. I get they are going out of business, but that doesn't mean they just get to treat customers like ***. When I asked when her manager would be in, she said she was the manager. So I told her I didn't like her attitude with how she snapped at me and the other gentleman. She said I didn't snap, and I said yes you did, you are taking an attitude now as well. And she said that is just my opinion, which it is my opinion. She is is customer service, she needs to be nice to people. To snap t 2 different people instead of helping them is poor service. When I then tried to call customer service, the lady who answered just flat hung up on me when I said I was calling to make a complaint. I wish I had more time to find my items, because I would have not given them my business. I now see why they have an F rating and are going out of business. Absolutely horrible treatment!

The sales girl said that she didn't care if I called and complained because they wouldn't do anything anyways. I want to know that someone from management called and talked to her and told her that is not ok treatment.

I received no email or mail or contact of any kind that my gift card was now invalid. The terms of service stated on the back of the gift card do not say it will be invalid at the corporations whims. It is not advertised clearly that gift cards are no longer accepted. When asked if Payless is stealing money from consumers, the clerk said, "yeah" and directed me to contact the corporate offices if I had a problem. I do have a problem. I want my $. I was never notified that my gift card is no longer valid. It does not state on the back of the gift card and it was not clearly posted in the advertising of store closing materials. Please confirm it is lawful for Payless shoe source to steal money from consumers. I sent email to Payless with no response received.

I purchased two pairs of shoes on Payless.com. When I put my coupon in it didn't take the coupon. I called the 800 number and spoke with a customer service representative and explained the issue to her. She stated that she would cancelY the order and place the correct order for me. The order was processed and I received 4 pairs of shoes instead of two. I called customer service and spoke with *** and explained the situation to her. I explained that due to your employee I received 4 pairs of shoes instead of 2 and that I was not going to *** to return the shoes because I had not made the error your employee did. She stated that I should go to the store and return the item and email her the receipt. I went to the store located in *** and returned the shoes. The girl gave me a receipt and I emailed it to ***. I did not hear from her so I emailed her several times to no avail. Finally I was able to speak with her on the telephone and she stated that I received a gift card. I DID NOT RECEIVE A GIFT CARD FROM THE STORE. I'm sure that all stores have a video camera and the tape can be pulled at the date and time of the return. Mind you I wouldn't have to go to the store which is out of my way to get my refund if the customer service representative had done the order correctly. I HAVE NOT BEEN INSIDE A PAYLESS STORE SINCE THAT DAY AND REFUSE TO GO IN ONE BECAUSE YOU ARE HOLDING MY $***

My complaint is that even though they are going out of business they are not acceptacc gift cards for payment. I don't believe this is acceptable. I returned an item and was given a gift card for that item and am now out that money since they won't accept it as payment. To me it is stealing my money.

I went to the *** in *** today, ***, and saw a sign in the window of Payless Shoes saying it was going out of business. I went to the counter and asked the girl if it was just their location closing. She said that it was all of their stores. I then stated that I would be using a $*** gift card. She told me that my card would have a zero balance, because the company was going bankrupt, and then she showed me a notice on the wall saying that gift cards would not be accepted after ***. I left the store, and checked out their website and there was no noticeable indication that any of the Payless Shoe Source Stores were closing. I then called *** and a recording said gift cards were no longer accepted after ***. I held and spoke with ***, and he confirmed that the company went bankrupt on ***, and that they would not honor gift cards. I asked *** how customers were notified, and he had no answer. I also mentioned that the website for the local store did not say anything about the stores closing. He told me to check payless.com/restructure for information.

I ordered shoes that were suppose to be over night / 1 day shipping. I received these 6 days later. I have been trying to contact customer service sent multiple things in and no one will respond I want my money back. this has been since ***!

With great pleasure I am here to report payless rego park. The store is improperly established with young ladies that are unprofessional. I reside in the neighborhood I like to enjoy the pleasure of having a mall. This establishment takes away walking in is unsettling *** speaking, cursing the customer service representatives are *** I asked a young lady for help on more than one occasion this young lady was dancing and speaking on her cellular device. I asked for managerial assistance a young lady description *** addressed me I was unable to verify if she was the manager she was unprofessionally spoken the attire was unprofessional and the customer service representatives walked laughing through this establishment.

The additude of these young ladies will not bring growth to our community. I would like for the young lady who alleged managerial and the entire store to get cleaned up.

Purchased two pairs of shoes from payless.com online retailer between ***-***. Did not receive any email confirmation. Called into customer service and stayed on hold for over 30 min at which time I hung up. The shoes arrived and the money was wihtdrawn from debit account. The shoes do not fit and I would like to return but I cannot get a receipt. Enclosed in the packaging was a note acknowledging that some customers did not get an email receipt with directons to call customer service. I have called customer service 5 times all and hung up each time after 30 minutes on hold. I can't return the shoes without a receipt and they won't asnwer the phone to get me the data I need to make a return.

I purchased items on PaylessShoeSource.com on ***. I was informed on *** that my items were shipped. After three days of no updates, I called the customer service line at ***. I spoke to representative and she informed me that due to an error on my part, the items were deemed undeliverable. She informed me that my items would have to be returned to the warehouse and once they were returned, a refund would be issued in 2-10 business days. She also stated that as of ***, the items were en route to the warehouse. I did not receive and update on the refund after waiting 10 business days, so I called the customer service line once again for an update on ***. I spoke to another representative, and they informed me again that they would process my refund once the items were returned to the warehouse. I also sent an email inquiring about the status of this issue. I did not get a response until 6 days later from a "***" stating that the items were undeliverable and a refund is "still being processed". I called again on *** and spoke to a manager. She stated her name was "***" and attempted to discredit my order information. She then realized she was incorrect and was reluctant to investigate my issue further. This manager was *** and kept talking over me whenever I voiced concern. She also let me know that despite what I was being told by previous representatives, my refund was never processed. After three weeks of going back and forth with Payless.com, all the while the items had been returned to the warehouse, my refund was finally processed. I'd also like to note that each time I called the customer service line, I was on hold no less than 20 minutes before I got in touch with a live person.

After placing an order and waiting a month, I call and was placed on hold for 35 minutes. After finally getting an agent I explained that I wanted to know the status of my order. I was placed on hold again. He came back on line and told me my order was cancelled because it was place out of the country. I explained to him that I live in this country (US) he proceeded to then tell me my card was associated with a bank located outside the country which it is not. I called my bank and they informed me the charge was still pending and I would need to call the payless again to cancel. I tried again on *** can was put immediately into voicemail for a continuous loop for 45 minutes of recordings with no way to get to a customer service agent.
