Pave-Way Asphalt

One star is too much for this company. My driveway was done on August 17th. The first thing when they arrived on the job , one of the guys asked for coffee. I wanted to have a good job done so I made coffee , offered cookies and even bought the guys pizza. Yet , they did a terrible job on with my driveway. I ended up with a large patched up work by the fence. No straight line was respected, asphalt pushed by the fence , both wooden and metal fence. I cannot put the gate together because fences are pushed back and asphalt is coming over to my neighbour property. Dave who gave me a quote is now stalling to come over and check the job , it needs to be fixed right away. I hear excuses and when he is "in the area". This morning I filed complaint with BBB. I wish I checked reviews of this company before I ask them to do the work. They were very insisting on the job and the quote was ok. I checked other jobs in my neighborhood. None of them is really good and they definitely do not understand what a straight line is. Do not use this company, if you do, do not pay until you are completely satisfied with the job. I paid right away and now they are not in a hurry to fix it , if it is fixable at all.

This company has no work ethics and do poor jobs. They made the pavement for my neighbour during July and August 2020. Surprisingly, just for a small parking spot (one car), they dug and left it like that for 6 weeks creating lots of mess around. While they were digging, they used heavily my property without even asking for consent, they did not tell to move my car and I got it badly dusty, they damaged the corner of my pavement that was just made 2-3 weeks before, stained my pavement, left empty bottles of water on my property, left my pavement muddy at the end. I complained to them to pay for the damages and they did not pick up phone calls and did not respond to email, not even an “I am sorry”; they do not even know about customer service. I just wanted to share my story so everyone could do research on the internet and see that Pave-Way Asphalt has created lots of other issues; additionally, there are websites that will not post complains like mine where they did damage and because I did not hire them. Someone was saying here and was so right: “If you want your neighbours to hate you and have to redo your driveway after they leave, these are the guys.”. In short, they will grab the money, do poor work and you will never see them again. Careful, they will also change phone numbers and email addresses often. Do a careful research before hiring someone.

I'm starting with a star review because the quality of this job will reveal itself over timePaveway came to our door and offered us a deal since they were in our areaWe were told they would come back in 30min to see what our decision wasWhile we were deciding we were also looking at reviews and they were mixedThe bad reviews were mostly weeks after the work was doneI spoke to both Dave the owner and his son and did mention the bad reviewsThey both assured me they would do a good job so we went with themOld asphalt was removed that day and the driveway gravel preparedA few weeks later Dave called to say they would be there the following day around noonOn the next day, around noon the crew arrived as scheduled to start the workThe crew was well coordinated and knew what they were doingThe job was done in under hour ( I have a small driveway)When I checked the work after they left I have to say it looked really goodUp until this point I would give them a 10/reviewIts only been days so Im still waiting to park on the new drivewayAfter I do, I'll be able to see how the job holds up over time So In summary: Paveway offered a very competitive price that we were happy withThe crew came on time, performed in a coordinated professional manner, and for the initial work, it looked goodNow I will see what happens in the long term Norm East York

***Less than year later and I have weeds growing up through my drivewayI have called or times been told to contact Frank whom I have texted countless timesHe did respond once saying he'd be in the neighbourhood the following weekBut they never showed upHe has not returned any texts sinceIt's been about weeks that I have been trying to call them.***

Last year this company was called pave guard and after they did a brutal job, cut all my cable and phone lines, didn't follow the design, and the steps sunk wia month, after several months of calling and being put off, they said too bad we went bankrupt but then the reopened as pave-way? Stay away from these guys
