Review: Dr [redacted] is not a pleasant dentist.[redacted]I had a root canal on 10/24/2013, the insurance sent the benefits statement which clearly stated that I only owe the copay of $15, however when I was in so much pain and needing a root canal the office made me pay $300 or they would not treat me at the time of visit.I called the insurance twice and they say that the money is due back to me as agreed in the in network agreement with the insurance company. I called to request my money back and was hung up on by the office manager. Is there anything I can do to get my money back and report this unethical behavior. This was the worst dentist ever.Desired Settlement: I would like my $300 back that the dentist should not have taken. They should not have charged me the $300 per insurance co since they are in network and the only charge should have been $15 co pay, however they are now saying some of the fees were not covered and they need to keep the $.Insurance company is Principal Ph #[redacted] they can confirm this. I am tired of people taking advantage of others. Please help![redacted]

Response:
I am responding to a complaint made from Mrs [redacted].
As you are aware that when dealing with the general public not everyone can be satisfied. This is another case of when the pain is gone the dentist fee is forgotten!. The statement made by Mrs [redacted] that I am an "unpleasant dentist" and "the worst dentist ever" are just plain malicious accusation with the intent of harming my practice. She failed to mention that I am the dentist that took her out of pain when her general dentist could not help her. She is just plain ungrateful for my skills, expertise and exceptional care when she needed it. I even called her several days later to make sure that she was doing well. There are two sides to every story. My version is as follows: Mrs [redacted] was seen at my office on an emergency basis due to severe pain from a failed attempt at root canal treatment started by her general dentist. I accommodated my schedule to see and treat her that morning and got her out of pain. She signed and agreed for the purchase of an antibiotic rinse which was an optional upgrade not covered by her insurance. My staff have contacted her insurance regarding covered and not covered benefits and it has been very difficult to get a straight answer from her insurance company regarding coverage. So far I have refunded a portion of the money that was paid as a gesture of goodwill . It is sad that facts get distorted by patients and vicious accusations made without good merit.

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution was not all due back to me however, I wish not to pursue this any further.
To again set the record straight, Dr [redacted] was extremely rude during my treatment and did not give me the Novacaine shots correctly wish made me feel the whole 3 hours of root canal pain. I will not refer anyone to his practice.
I appreciate the Revdex.com getting involved and helping me to get my money that Dr. [redacted] held onto for so long. Another point was that the insurance statement was quite clear, maybe Dr and his office manager may consider learning how to read proper english to ensure they understand further statements from insurance companies.
