Review: On Saturday, August 16th 2014, I was a customer at Patterson Food Center. I purchased ice and beverages. Upon returning home, I realized I had been charged twice(S3.99+tax) for a bag of ice. I returned to the store, spoke to the mgr. on hand, & was told to return when the cashier who helped me would be available, on Monday. In the meantime, I noticed the receipt ink was disappearing, so I made a copy. On Monday when I returned, the same mgr spoke to me. When I showed him my copy of the receipt, he became angry that I had made a copy. At that point he refused to discuss my refund any further, walking away angrily. I never got my refund. It appears that the disappearing ink is deliberate, because my copy proved the overcharge , and he refused to look at it. The cashier admitted I had purchased only 1 bag.Desired Settlement: I would like my refund of course. But I would also like this store's inadequate & discriminatory customer service to stop.
Business
Response:
According to the cashier, the customer bought had two bags of ice therefore she charged him two bags of ice. We don't discriminate against anybody and we try to meet everyone's expectations and exceed them when possible. It is very unfortunate that this customer feels that we treated him this way, we never intended to. Our cashier says he had two bags, she has no reason to overcharge a customer. If she had made a mistake we would take full responsibility for it, but we believe she didn't.
Consumer
Response:
Consumer states that the cashier had confirmed that there was only one bag of ice and the young man still refused to provide the refund. They have the camera evidence available and would show only one bag of ice. This is not the first time this happens. They are doing this not only to this consumer but to the whole community. Consumer feels that every time he goes to this business he is shortchanged.
Business
Response:
Business states that they do not agree with customer response. As a courtesy to the customer they are willing to refund the amount of the bag of ice so this situation could come to a close. Customer will promptly a check or money order in the mail.

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
