Hello, The ***'s had contacted us about the slide out awning fabric that we had recently installed having tornWe told them to bring their RV in to inspect it and if there was warranty issue with the fabric we would replace the fabric free of chargeUpon inspecting the fabric we noticed
that the hardware for the awning was bent up tight against the side wall of the RVAfter further inspection we also found brown scrapes on the side and top of the awning fabricThere was damage to the exterior light behind the slide out caused by the awning hardwareBecause the light is below and behind the slide out awning we can determine that this was from an object colliding with and pressing down on the slide out awning when the vehicle was traveling forwardWe also found that the "C" channel track that the awning fabric fits into on the side of the RV, had streak marks on it and was partiality smashed closed approximately 3" behind the awningThis track is used when installing the fabric, and we could not have replaced the fabric if it was in this condition while at our facility. As far as the quality of the fabric, we used OEM replacement fabric, that includes rip stop webbingSomething had to cause the fabric to tear, adding everything together (brown scrapes, broken light, bent hardware, and torn fabric) I would venture to guess that they came into contact with a tree branchWhen we asked Mr*** about the brown marks he stated that the were caused by "some small sticks"Because of the nature of the damage I would suggest that the owner file a collision damage claim with their insurance companyI have included pictures of the brown streaks, the damage to the light and the awning "C" channel
