Invoices from either company that supposedly performed any replacement of glow plugs only showed 1 glow plug replaced and not 2 and another 1 like in their rebuttal. The outside company [redacted] Auto which is associated with Precision Fleet Services (PFS) based on invoice attached only showed #5 plug being replaced when in fact it is seized in the block as stated in email from Mercedes-Benz(MB) tech on diagnosis (attached). I have SMS Text logs of the representative at PFS stating all glow plug should have been replaced. In regards to what actually happened, I drove home across the country and cold started it for the first time when I got home. This is when I brought it to MB and informed PFS about the situation of a ball park range quote off the top of the head from MB of about $5000 in labor alone plus the cost of parts. The original quote I sent them (attached) states about $10,200 or so in repairs. The quote they attached from my supposed alternate company other than MB is in fact a lie as I stated it was from MB themselves. This, as I stated to them, was a cheaper quote from MB after I asked them for only the absolute bare minimum of what is needed to be done to follow through with all glow plugs replaced. The quote they sent is parts alone for this service plus the labor of around $5600. This all does not include the 3 glow plugs apparently replaced already. It is true PFS offered me a full refund but only at my cost of transportation back to their shop. I will not accept this as a reasonable offer as this is not my wrong doing. This company has ignored and smudged the truth from the start all the while not complying to the matter all the while disregarding the fact they for one did not replace all glow plugs, and for two, are misleading evidence by historically false context.
[redacted] - thank you for following up with us on this matter. I have read Mr. [redacted]'s second complaint and should clarify - only the number five glow plug was changed at [redacted] Automotive, the numbers one and three glow plugs were changed at our facility. We incorrectly assumed the updated lower estimate was from another facilty as there is no name on it. However, the fact that the same facility was originally wanting to charge us $5000-8000 for the work they said the vehicle needed and is now willing to do the work that they say it needs for $2400 is a major red flag for us and I would assume for you as well. How are we supposed to believe any of their recommendation are either true or accurate. As we stated before, we are willing to give a FULL AND COMPLETE REFUND upon the return of the vehicle in the same condition as it was when it left. I'm not sure how much more a company can stand behind it's product than to take it back and refund the purchase price. Asking it to be returned to the same facility that it was purchased and picked up from does not seem to be unreasonable. If Mr. [redacted] doesn't want to drive it back, we can help him find a vehicle transporter who could truck the vehicle back to us.
