I was surprised when I went to the DMV to register the used car I purchased at Patriot Motors, to find Patriot incorrectly calculated the taxes due, failing to include County and RTD tax (over $450!). When I went to Patriot to explain their oversight I was put on the phone with "Joe," one of the owners. As I attempted to explain the oversight and the fact that the Colorado Dept of Revenue "Standard Sales Tax Receipt Instructions" Note to Dealer includes the provision for the Dealer to "please collect the local use tax", Joe became belligerent, interrupted me, and told me to "shut up and listen." At that point I told Joe our discussion was over and told the salesperson that it was too bad their company failed to own its mistakes. A mistake was made. This was either intentional and deceptive or poor business and just plain RUDE, unprofessional communication.
