worked with various court systems within Roanoke City and County, Botetourt County, Montgomery County, Franklin and Henry Counties, along with various lawyers. To our knowledge no test has been dismissed from the court system. Our test are certified by the company performing the DNA tests. The company is a national company. Client was also informed that other companies conducting DNA tests can take 4-6 weeks to get results. With our company he would have the results in about 3 days from time after collection the samples. We conducted the DNA tests at his request, which he paid for, and provided him with a certified copy for court. According to the client, the court system did not except the test results. This is a first in 10 years. The client was upset, rightfully so. However, Patriot Drug & DNA Testing provided a services and we can't force the court system to accept the results. Patriot Drug & DNA Testing once services have been provided and laboratory fees paid a refund is not in order.
As for collection of DNA samples being done incorrectly, is not true. The laboratory requires photographs of people samples collected on birth certificates of minor children and valid id on adults. Fingerprints not part of laboratory protocol. The chain of custody is filled out sent in with samples photo birth certificate and valid id.Once laboratory results come in, all we get is the results. The laboratory retains all other documents for their records. In all other DNA cases we have done, we have never been asked for chain of custody, fingerprints, photo, birth certificate, and valid id as part of the results. This is a first for us.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I was told by the judge that they would not accept the results because they were incomplete. The results lacked fingerprints, photos of me and the child and there was no chain of custody letter. Since this was done incorrectly, I want my money back.

Review: I went to Patriot Drug & DNA Testing to have a DNA test done. The price was $400. I asked beforehand would I be able to use this test in court. I was told yes, I went to court, the judge tells me he can't accept the test and I was told that DNA test take at least four weeks. I received this test back in four days.Desired Settlement: The resolution I think should happen is my four hundred dollars should be refunded. It was a lost of four hundred dollars. I couldn't use it in court the judge would not accept it.
