Passport Health

When I made an appointment to receive a vaccination at Passport Health, the call taker (not necessarily at this particular office, but at the main Passport Health phone line) quoted me a price of approximately $140 for the vaccine. The call taker mentioned an online pre-appointment consultation form I could complete, which would take $10 off the cost of the vaccine.

When I had my appointment, the person in the office answered a few of my questions, and before giving me the shot, presented me with a summary of the costs. The summary included the shot for $140 (or something close to that), the $10 discount as explained by the call taker, and a $50 “office fee,” which no one had told me about on the phone prior to making the appointment. I paid the fees, as I needed the vaccine within a certain time-frame of my trip and could not wait any longer to get the vaccine.

When I called Passport Health to bring this to their attention, a refund request was created and then subsequently denied by a supervisor named ***. He claimed that I had been told about the $50 “office fee” when making the appointment, which I am positive is not true. He says that the call taker documented having told me about it; I believe it was documented falsely.

I am seeking a refund only for the $50 “office fee,” as I would have sought another service for this vaccine if I knew this fee existed. I think this was deceptive advertising, which is especially frustrating because the $50 is more than one-third the cost of the vaccine itself.
