On 9/4/18 I went to a Passport & Visa Solutions to file a passport renewal application and get a passport photo taken. Upon entering the establishment, I had an unwelcoming look from Abdu ***. When I spoke to him to fill out the passport application, he was rude to me. After filling out the passport application, he had me sign the printed out application I filled out. He tossed the pen on the table for me to sign. He then went to take a picture for my passport of me. I told him, that I’m not photogenic and worried that it may not come out good since I have to use this passport for the next 10 years. The photo he took of me was horrible, with me looking miserably tired. I asked him to take one more photo of me, and it still came out not so nice. On 9/5/18, I called and spoke with Abdu's son to hold on to my application till Monday, September 10, 2018 so I could get my passport picture retaken elsewhere. Abdu's son told me they will hold it for me till Monday and that I could come in on Saturday to re-submit my picture. On Saturday, 9/8/18, I called Abdu's business to let them know I was coming down to drop off the picture. Abdu, then told me that he told me he had already mailed it on Friday, September 7, 2018. I then asked him why he did that when his son told me that they will hold the application till Monday and started scolding me and making excuses. Whenever, I asked him a question, he would talk over me and continue to argue with me. I was really upset and then raised my voice telling him of my disappointment with his service and that how he treated me bad at the office. Abdu, then tried to get in touch with me and said that I could resubmit my picture and he will mail it for me to the Passport office. When I went there, he treated me like a child and after giving my receipt, he asked me “Are you happy now?” I then received my passport about two to three weeks later, only to find out that the lousy picture of me he took was the one used in the passport.

This is not about me yelling, or being upset, of which I had every right to. This is also not about how many times you took my photo which all came out lousy as you half-heartedly took.
Regardless of Mr. pristine resume of his company, he lacks in customer service skills. As I say again, the moment I stepped into your office, you and whoever you were talking to kept looking at me as though I were from another planet. Furthermore, you tossed the pen on the application to sign. I do not know what this person has against me. Furthermore, Mr., should not employ his son if he is unable to communicate with customers properly.
$34.50 is too little to compensate for his treatment of me. I will settle for $100.00. Thank you.
I strongly disagree with Mr. characterization. No one, stays in business by handling people in the manner he has portrayed me. If he truly felt unwelcome, he could have walked away and do business elsewhere and that would have been the right thing to do. However, because he was treated with respect in my office he didn’t. While he has the right to express his feeling in a civil manner, I don’t feel it was appropriate that he chose to be insulting and use vulgarity to express his anger.
As previously explained in length in my letter stating the chain of event, I still don’t see anything I had done wrong and remain astonished to hear all the untruth and bogus accusation. As far as I remember, we had a cordial and polite office visit. Mr. became a customer that unfortunately couldn’t do enough to meet his unrealistic expectations. I sincerely apologize for any unintended perception that may have happened.
I have assisted American Airlines employees in getting their passports and visa for more than 20 years, which is the company Mr. works for. It will be very detrimental for my business if I was to treat any member of AA or other companies in the manner described.
Mr. wants to settle for $ 100.00. I do not see the harm supposedly caused to warrant compensating him more than the service fee of $69.00 he paid. My intent is to end this issue as soon as possible and will reimburse him the full amount he paid and hope this is will be satisfactory. However, if this matter persists, I will have to notify the State Department the government agency that issued his passport. I will also consider filing a formal complaint against his behavior with American Airline’s Customer Relations Department as well as seek legal representation as I feel very much harassed.
