Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below If you take pride in the work you do, I would expect some stricter quality controlThe parts were not made to specificationsThe attachments show that they scratched and gougedWho would these be acceptable to? And who would take pride in that work? This is the first I'm hearing of an offer to remake the parts and and get an account creditIf I actually thought you all would make the parts correctly, I would opt for that choice, but you have now messed up batches of parts so I don't feel confident in going that routeEspecially since I am already way behind schedule because of thisYou did offer me a 50% refund and to keep the parts as is, but unfortunately this doesn't really do anything for meThere are so many issues with the parts, I cannot use these for my product. As I said in my email, I would like a full refund for the partsThis is a quality control issue on your part and I should not be responsible for paying for parts of bad quality.Best, [redacted] ***

Thank you for your letter. We’ve been in communication with this customer and I would like to provide you a summary of our position. In short, the discrepancy is over the finish of custom machined part. The parts are made within all tolerances and specificationsThe customer chose
to get the parts produced at the lowest tolerance rather than opting for a more precise, yet expensive manufacturing method, which would have produced a more uniform finish. The customer also declined to get the parts professionally finished and again opted for the lowest cost bead-blast finish. We’ve voluntarily the following steps to help remedy this matter:Remade parts the customer was not satisfied with, but most were within tolerance and to the specification.Refunded $for missing taps that were completed by the customer.Refinished some of the parts that the customer was not satisfied with.I've also included the terms and conditions that were agreed to when the customer made the payment: This seems to be a matter of personal preference on the parts since they are made to specification and within tolerance. We would be willing to consider reasonable measures to resolve this issue with the customer, but a significant refund would not be justifiable given the facts of the matter.Thank You,*** ***

If you take pride in the work you do, I would expect some stricter quality control. The parts were not made to specifications. The attachments show that they scratched and gouged. Who would these be acceptable to? And who would take pride in that work? This is the first I'm hearing of an offer to remake the parts and and get an account credit. If I actually thought you all would make the parts correctly, I would opt for that choice, but you have now messed up 2 batches of parts so I don't feel confident in going that route. Especially since I am already way behind schedule because of this. You did offer me a 50% refund and to keep the parts as is, but unfortunately this doesn't really do anything for me. There are so many issues with the parts, I cannot use these for my product. As I said in my email, I would like a full refund for the parts. [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]In response to the businesses claims1. First of all part tolerance has nothing to do with part finish. Part tolerance has to do with the measurements/dimensions of the part. The first batch of parts had a lot of tolerance issues, the parts that were remade were closer to tolerance, but the finish was worse than the first batch. I was never told that the price I was paying had anything to do with the quality of the parts... especially after I had stressed the importance of finish/appearance from the beginning. So saying that "the parts were made to my specification" is completely inaccurate. Also, implying that since I had chosen bead blasting instead of a more expensive option somehow merits low quality work is ridiculous. Again, it was never stated that by choosing bead blasting as my finish my parts might have problems.2. The refund of $61.09 that I received was not for missing taps but for broken or damaged parts upon arrival. I have pictures.3. This is not a matter of personal preference, it is a matter of poor workmanship. I have gotten second opinions form another manufacturer and from another mechanical engineer who have both said that the parts show signs of poor machine work and amateur mistakes.I have missed deadlines and have had so much of my time wasted by this company. A refund is the only solution. I've attached pictures of the broken part, and also some of the finishes on the new parts. I've also attached a conversation I had with another manufacturer (one of the 2nd opinions I was referring to).
