I am rejecting this response because: I would like to know if a business is responsible for mail once they receive it from the customer. I would also like to know if it’s a federal offense to tamper with, steal, or lose mail that a business has received after a customer has put it in their possession; regardless if it was traced, have a tracking number, or sent priority mail. If in fact it is a federal crime for a certified business establishment to lose, tamper with, or miss place mail they receive from a customer then, I would like some sort of compensation for this matter. If it is a fact that email was received by a legitimate business that excepts mail please explain why there’s no repercussion for when that mail is lost. This would suggest that anyone mailing something without a tracking number is subject to their mail being stolen at any given time and your business would have no responsibility whatsoever and this Is unfair to consumers. There was a personal note in that letter to my son who lives in another country and I haven’t seen him in a year. I am in the military and being able to communicate with my children via mail is a very important thing. I am very distraught that this has occurred and there appears to be no penalty for anyone’s actions .
