As I understand the complaint as depicted in Case # [redacted] it is that a family member of the patient transported believes the Paratech Ambulance Service crew involved informed the family that the transport would be covered at 100% Our crew members do not have the authority or the detailed knowledge of a patient’s insurance to comment on the coverage status of any transport It is not in our policy or training to do so Patients and family are aware that it is their responsibility to understand the coverage of their plansAs I understand the request mentioned in the complaint the family member is asking that the family and/or patient not be responsible for the cost of the transport The transport, which was a non-covered service, has since been paid by the patient’s insurance I’ve itemized the billing schedule for both transports, A & B, below 16-A leg, 16-B leg 3/1/date of service - Non-covered service due to destination to and from a Clinic which is not covered by Medicare or Medicare HMO’s16-A leg3/21/16, 4/20/Private pay bills sent to patient.4/21/Call from Humana requesting they be billed.5/4/Humana denied.5/23/Private pay bill sent to patient.6/22/Private pay bill sent to patient.7/7/Private pay bill sent to patient.7/6/Humana called stating payment was sent to us 6/30/16.7/8/Humana payment of $received, no balance due from patient.1/9/Humana recouped $payment.1/10/Private pay bill sent to patient.2/7/Humana repaid $278.26, no balance due from patient16-B leg4/21/Private pay bill sent to patient.5/23/Private pay bill sent to patient.6/7/Private pay bill sent to patient.7/6/Humana called requesting they be billed.8/31/Humana denied.9/1/Account went to collections.11/10/Humana contacted us for run report.11/22/Humana was billed and they denied.12/5/Humana paid mileage.12/7/Humana called stating they would be paying additional $213.70.1/13/Humana paid $279.68, no balance due from patientAgain, thank you for your assistance in this matter Please let me know if you require any thing further [redacted] Executive Director Paratech Ambulance ServiceW Brown Deer RdMilwaukee, WI
