Rented this cabin from January 27th thru January 31st. In the cabin you are instructed to read this book on what they require and want you to do. It stated to please inspect cabin and if anything found wrong to please notify them by the number listed. One guests bed appeared to not have been changed and covers just pulled up to make it look like it was changed. We called and spoke with and informed her the gas fireplaces were not working and about the bed appearing to have not been changed. They sent a person out for the gas fireplace and found out there was no gas and it would not be delivered until the next day per the owner. owner called back and said she spoke with head housekeeper and he informed her the sheets were clean and he lived 20 miles out so she was not sending him to take care of this. The next morningy arrived and we asked him to go upstairs to look at the bed and he refused. My guest had to sleep on the couch until WE washed the sheets and remade the bed. All this head housekeeper wanted to talk about was leaving tips which there was an envelope in the kitchen asking for tips (very unprofessional) which we were charged $149.00 cabin cleaning fee and $25.00 hot tub cleaning fee. Why should I tip them then! I also sent pictures of how nasty the cabin was and no response. I also told the owner that there was a rat infestation at the cabin because they were seen on the deck and had chewed holes in my brothers shirt he left on the floor in the bathroom. Then asked me to call her. By that time it was over and all I was going to hear was blah, blah, blah like with the bed. This cabin needed a major overhaul with outside and inside windows cleaned, baseboards cleaned, stairs cleaned and free of dust buildup. My brother also almost fell from the deck because a rail was loose. Very dangerous. It appears they never check the cabins for cleanliness or maintenance upkeep and rely on their head housekeeper who is rude!
Refund I would appreciate a one to two day refund due to the uncleanliness i had to deal with while renting this cabin and most especially because of the boldness and rudeness of the head housekeeper that the owner covers for. The cabin needs a good cleaning inside and out and it needs more than 1 person cleaning it each time if they want to keep it clean. No phone calls accepted by business or owners...just by email only.
We want to thank you for staying with us. We are sorry for the issues that you had with the cabin. We were certainly shocked when we saw this from Revdex.com and now stating you are wanting a refund. When you left, you sent a text stating you didn't even want us to respond to you. It stated, " Have a blessed day. And like I said, no reply is needed" We also want to let you know that since this property has been on VRBO, we have a 4.9 star rating based on 102 reviews.
In all these years of renting this cabin, we have never had anyone question the bedding not being cleaned. However when we received a call at 10 pm we said that we would be willing to send up housekeeping. But you said never mind sending him up. In the morning we sent up the housekeeping manager and he stated that everything was taken care of.
The gas company came out the very next morning and filled the gas tank. The fireplaces are the only thing that is connected to gas. We have central electric heat in the rest of the cabin.
We have never had rats in the cabin, not even a mouse. We have a professional company that treats the cabin monthly so we called them and they said that there was not any signs of a rat or a mouse in the house.
We are sorry that it did not meet your expectations and based on your reason for wanting refund, we do not feel it is justified.

We were not offered housekeeping to come up and check things out the night we called. Saying this was offered is not true at all. I was told they were 20 miles out and they would be sent the next morning. My sister ended up having to sleep on the couch that night. Housekeeping manager did arrive the next day BUT HE REFUSED TO GO LOOK AT THE BED IN QUESTION! There were 4 adults that heard him say that in the kitchen that morning. His wife cleans this cabin as to why he was so defiant. Said he knew it was clean and did not have to go look at it. My sister then asked him so you are saying you changed the sheets then is why you know they were clean. He then got loud and obnoxious.I sent owner several pictures of the nastiness of the cabin. We still have the shirt showing where a mouse or rat ate holes in the shirt that was laying on the bathroom floor downstairs. Pictures we sent and a shirt my brother has with holes eaten out of it should be proof enough.
I was told owner does not even live in the area but another state so who is running the show on checking the status of the cabin upkeep I ask. Relying on others to keep a check on your cabins is not a good business practice.
