I purchased a new vehicle from Toyota with cash, after 10,000 miles the tires wear was uneven, they said it's not the alignment and told me I would need new tires soon at the 10,000 mile servicing. And the 15,000 mile servicing they said my one tire was really really bad, but they wouldn't do anything about it. My understanding it's against federal law to sell a vehicle with tires that do not last 25,000 miles or more. I have tried resolving this with them and they refuse to replace the tires. They sold me a vehicle with junk tires knowing I had 5 kids and didn't bother to warn me.
Case: ***Dear ***:Thank you for allowing us to respond to *** complaint.I am very sorry to see this dissatisfaction from our customer. Tire Manufacturers are supposed to hold the warranty on their tires as is their agreement with the automotive manufacturers I have included the pamphlet that states such. I understand Bridgestone declined to provide coverage when *** contacted them. Our service manager Darla *** contacted our Toyota rep on behalf of the customer and she did offer goodwill to cover 50% of the repair. We were very pleased that Toyota had offered this assistance. I notice this offer was not mentioned in the complaint. We did contact Toyota again after receiving your letter and they will stand behind their offer. I hope she accepts the offer.I have tried to find the information about the Federal Law and tires that she stated in her complaint and have not been able to find information on such law or anyone who could help me find the information that she stated. If this does exist I would like to know where I may find this information - it is the first time I have heard this statement. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me directly at *** or by email at ***Sincerely, Allison P *** -President

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below,
Tires are an important part to a vehicle, seeing as how this vehicle didnt come with a spare tire because they are run flats, makes it all the more reason for Toyota to replace them. They sold me the vehicle, not Bridgestone. Bridgestone offered 50% off and when I asked Toyota if they would work with Bridgestone since they are both willing to do 50% and Toyota told me no, they dont get their tires from bridgestone. Sound to me like they always get away with ripping off customers. Its not like I financed the vehicle or leased it. I out right bought it and I am highly dissatisfied with the customer service I have thus far received regarding these tires. This should have been an easy replacement.

Had my 2006 Toyota Sequoia serviced and inspected 8/18/17, at that time the dashboard lights for ABS,VSC, BRAKE were lit. Technician checked codes, bled brakes, checked sensors and charged $180.45 for a quote for SKID CONTROL ECU at $966.72.
Took car home, tapped on ABS computer, jiggled brake master cylinder float, disconnected battery for 1 hour.
Warning lights went out and have stayed out for over 1 month with many starts and stops.
Discussed some refund for misdiagnosis, but was told they were sorry I was upset, but no help.
Will avoid doing business with this company in the future.
Thank you for allowing me to respond to the ***'s complaint against Palmiero Toyota. I have personally spoken to Mr. and I feel badly that he is unsatisfied with his experience at Palmiero. When he brought his vehicle in we hooked it up to the diagnostic scan tool. This allows us to advise the customer which parts are involved in relation to the service lights on the dashboard. I am happy for him that tapping on a part and disconnecting a battery worked for him but that is not how we repair cars at this dealership. The diagnostic code did indicate the Skid Control ECU should be replaced. I spoke with one of my technicians and he explained to me the part can act up intermittently before it fails completely. (This means the part can get a little more use out of it before it completely fails) as I explained to Mr. we are happy his tapping of the ABS computer and jiggling the brake master cylinder float extended the life of the part, but if the light comes back on and does not go off he may want to reconsider replacing the part. The diagnosis was not a misdiagnosis so I do not feel it is correct to refund the money for the time and equipment spent on his vehicle. I do feel badly Mr. is not pleased with our decision. Again, thank you for allowing me to respond to this complaint.
Sincerely,
Allison P B

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. It is now over 2 months and warning lights are still out. I think that's enough time to show that SKID CONTROL ECU is working, and does not need replaced.
