Review: I contracted with palace designs for general contractor services to manage the renovation of my home on Feb 22, 2013. the work was to be completed and I was to move-in to the property by mid-April. the total contract amount with addendums was $59,400, and of that $43,400 was paid. The work, however, not taken place. The contractor demolished the interior of the home but did no work to restore the property. The contract included rewiring, replumbing, managing a kitchen and bath renovation, painting, refinishing the floors, and miscellaneous other items. When questioned about the status of the work, the contractor demanded more money. when asked to show documents to verify the management of funds paid, she threatened to leave the job. calls to subcontractors show in some cases they were never contracted for the services. One subcontractor was paid $600 for a job she told me cost $4,000. Four months after the contract date, my home is in shambles, I am out over $40,000 and I am moving into a gutted home.Desired Settlement: I desire possession of materials purchased (if any) and return of all other funds.
