Review: We purchased a 2001 Nissan X-Terra on August 18, 2013 from P&C Motors. The car seemed fine during our short test drive that day. The same evening the car seemed to started running rough and the 'check engine' light came on. We took it to the shop the next day and they diagnosed failure of the knock sensor and gave us a repair estimate. We went back to P&C Motors, explaining the problem and expecting them to apologize and help with the repair costs. They recommended to use 'their' repair guy (a different shop than the one we used), but we got a much higher estimate from him, so we had it fixed by our first repair shop.Desired Settlement: We expect P&C Motors to refund the cost for the repair ($622.00) since the car was obviously faulty when we bought it. P&C states that there was no problem with the car, but we doubt that, especially since it would have been impossible to get it smog checked with a faulty knock sensor.

[redacted],
I felt that I should send you a letter in follow up to our phone conversation on Aug. 27t". I wanted an
opportunity to make certain that you realize that we did In fact offer, several times, to help you with
your vehicles Issue. We simply asked that you bring your vehicle In to our repair facility, just as your
contract clearly states Is required. This Is always necessary in order for us to not only conflnn the
customers concern, but also to identify the cause of any Issue that may have arisen.
In this Instance it would appear that your Issue was likely not covered under warranty yet [redacted] still
offered to have P & C Motors try to help. Several days passed but you did not bring your Xterra ln. I then
personally called to make sure that you were aware that we wanted to help. Again we did not receive a
response. After nine days had passed you finally contacted me only to demand that I pay you money,
threatening that you would do all that you could to harm our reputation If I refused. In consideration of
our numerous attempts to resolve your Issue, with no response on your part, I was quite dismayed as I
felt this to be completely unjustified.
P & C Motors is very proud of Its reputation for customer satisfaction. We have our vehicles Inspected
and repaired by anSAE certified repair facility and go through great lengths In an attempt to offer
vehicles that are more reliable and trouble free. My understanding Is that even your repair facility
indicated that your vehicle was in very good condition. Please remember however, even brand new
vehicles frequently need repairs as there are many things that can go wrong with todays' cars.
In closing, I am completely confident that, had you brought your vehicle in to our repair facility, we
would have been able to satisfy you and th!s letter would not have been necessary. I truly hope that you
will come to agree that P & C Motors exhausted all reasonable actlons to stand behind our product.
