OYO: Hotel Northeast

My family and I arrived at the hotel on 6/10, only to be met with a vicious dog the hotel attendant had behind the counter and a business transaction being done with a prostitute in the parking lot. After witnessing this, I immediately began my search for another property--as the conditions were not suitable for me, my husbad, and my two minor children.
After settling in another property (Wingate by Wyndham), I called the hotel to get a refund. The gentleman I spoke to, *** (name spelling may be off), agreed to cancel the room at no charge due to the conditions I stated. He assured me I'd receive a confirmation email to that effect. As of 6/13, I hadn't received a confirmation email AND I was still charged $100 plus for the original 3 night reservation. I then called and spoke to a gentleman by the name of *** on 6/13 who contradicted what Prejoe stated and indicated that I could not have a contact number to consult with a member of management. I explained to him that I would have to file a formal complaint and take the necessary steps to get my money refunded since he indicated that customers do not have any recourse to speak with a member of management. Their automated systems states that ALL CALLS ARE RECORDED. I suggested that he listen to the recording on 6/10 where Prejoe agreed to cancel the room AT NO CHARGE. Ultimately, the phone call ended with no resolution so I've been forced to explore alternatives for getting my refund as promised.

I have also contacted the health department about this matter. The conditions at this hotel are disgusting. It's very unsanitary and a health hazard. Especially right now, when thorough cleaning is more essential than normal. There are roaches, blood/ body fluids on linens, broken windows, exposed wiring. I honestly have never seen a hotel this bad in my life.
