They conducted a 3 day investigation regarding a potential 3rd party phishing scam into my account before finally securing my account and locking the 3rd party out. Two months later after the initial breach they notified me today that they are still investigating whether my personal information has been compromised without even starting the enrollment process for free credit monitoring or identify theft protection services?
At Overlake, we
are deeply committed to patient care, which includes protecting patients'
personal information. On Dec. 9, 2019, Overlake discovered that unidentified
third parties obtained the login credentials of certain email accounts of
Overlake Medical Center & Clinics. This type of cybersecurity incident is
commonly known as a "phishing" scam. Within hours of learning of the
incident, we secured the accounts and immediately began an investigation. At
this time, we have no evidence that social security numbers, driver's license
numbers, or financial information was contained in the accounts. We worked hard
to notify those patients affected as quickly as possible, while ensuring a
complete and thorough investigation.
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Sincerely
Amazingly incompetent! I presented at their ER two years ago with chest pain, jaw pain and shortness of breath. EKG was abnormal and cardiac enzymes were elevated. Was I kept for observation? Nope. Was I informed my EKG was abnormal? Nope. Did the doctor notice the elevated cardiac enzymes and hold me for observation? Again, no.
I was instead diagnosed as having a "prediabtic episode" and told that I was short of breath because my BMI of 29 was "too high."
When I downloaded the doctor's notes from the interaction, she wrote down that my chief complaint was "giddiness." Oh, okay, so there was a mixup. Nope. I filed two appeals with them to remove that from my record, to no avail. "We stand by our doctor."
Three weeks later, a treadmill stress echo revealed severe damage to the front wall of the heart, most likely from the heart attack that went undiagnosed.
You are better off getting gauze and duct tape from Whole Food across the street and fixing it yourself.
The only upside: the billing department is accurate and not over-eager in their bill collection.
Overlake is managing this concern through our grievance process.
Apparently, when you falsely are booked for an appointment at this office (oncology) when you have never even been seen as a patient...you get billed for a "Consultation" and even with insurance it's $250, plus you have to pay for parking and my copayment was $75. I can't imagine what it would be without insurance. This place is insane. All to see a doctor for Shingles Rash which was disappearing....something you would not go to an oncologist for. Where they spend 5 minutes in the room with you and even they seem puzzled.....you leave...there was no "exam" and you then question the office why you were billed $250, and after 4 months of questioning multiple office staff who can't give you answers but throw you around and say they will call you back, on the 4th month...November 7th you get a reply back from Elizabeth Hildreth, RN, MSN
Patient Advocate Nurse (for Dr. Goldy Bansal) saying the charges were legitimate because the doctor completed an exam. NO---they did nothing of the sort.
Paid the bill today in full, but needed to send this to the Revdex.com because this is absurd.
Overlake bariatric center leaves much to be desired. While the initial meetings where encouraging I soon discovered they are really not the people I thought they where. I was shuffled around to there college friends and then made to feel as if I was merely a money source. I would not recommend going to this business.
