In response to *** *** last reply to the above caseI don't think it's fair the whole story is not postedCustomers will see what he wrote and think we try to sneak additional cost into the projects when in reality this is the last thing we do and try to avoid change orders at all costWe know customers don't like hidden cost and we try to always be 100% upfrontIn this situation the additional cost came from a siding repair that had to be done before the new stairs could be constructedWhen his wooden builder stairs were removed there was not any siding behind themThere is absolutely no way anyone could have planned for this and that is why there was additional cost outside of the contracted amountHowever, with his response it looks like we just added additional money to his final bill and tried to "throw" in an additional charge. Thanks,Lucas G***
When the customer called regarding the repairs for the patio we were not able to enter a service request at that time because the customer still had an outstanding balance on their account from 2012 of $500. Outdoor-FX waived all late fees for the two years of the account being past due. Since then,...
the customer has paid their account balance and a service request has been entered and the repairs will be completed as requested. The repairs will be done as soon as weather permits.
In my defense on the outstanding 500 dollars that they said was still owed was a surprise at the end of completion. When the contract was signed it was for 16,000. I specifically asked the out the door price due to hidden costs like this that get thrown to the consumer. When the owner of the company told me last year at the Home and Garden Show last year they would fix it, he said call his brother Lucas to set up a time for repairs. Lucas said the 500 dollars needed paid first, which I did right away going against how I felt it should never have been paid since it was outside the contract price. It has been almost a year since I was told it would be fixed. I just want my patio to be fixed and be proud of what I paid a lot of money for. Thank you for your help. If they stick to their word, I will be satisfied

Outdoor-FX avoids change orders whenever possible. The additional cost Mr. [redacted] is referring to came from missing siding from when his wooden stairs were removed. Once the existing wooden stairs were removed there needed to be new siding installed prior to Outdoor-FX installing the stone stairs that were contracted to build. The change order for $500 covered the siding repairs. Outdoor-FX looks forward to repairing the area's of the paver patio that have settled so the patio looks new again and the homeowner is happy.
