Ottawa Pavemaster

We would like to commend the owners (Ron and Rosa) of Ottawa Pavemaster for the integrity, compassion and understanding they demonstrate when dealing with their customers.
My parents, who are in their late 80's, had signed a contract with Ottawa Pavemaster to have their driveway removed and repaved. Ottawa Pavemaster was the chosen paving company because my father was impressed with how quickly they responded to our inquiry about paving and the fairness of their pricing.
Unfortunately, another paving company that had only provided my parents with a verbal quote, went ahead and paved their driveway without a written or signed contract. The company then insisted on full payment. An amount that far exceeded the cost that Ottawa Pavemaster was charging for the same work. You can well imagine how stressful this whole situation was for my elderly parents.
We tried, along with Rosa, to explain to the other company that they had done a job without a signed contract. They just wanted their money.
Rosa and Ron graciously returned my parents deposit and cheque so that my parents could pay the other company. This sort of kindness is usually unheard of in the world of business today. The other company will only be getting the amount that my father had agreed to pay Ottawa Pavemaster, in their signed contract.
If you are looking for a paving company, then we highly recommend Ottawa Pavemaster. My father summed up his thoughts about Ottawa Pavemaster best, when he said, "A company with values and integrity. Just like the good old days!"

Excellent workmanship and attention to detail! The new driveway and front walkway look great! They were very accommodating and made sure we got exactly what we were looking for, despite having to work through yet another Ottawa heat wave. ***'s team was friendly and polite. *** is a real artist with the stone work and curving patterns.

Ottawa PaveMaster did a great job replacing our driveway, front walk and main entrance. There was a lot of work installing the pavers and curb along both sides and the top of the driveway, the sidewalk and a new front stoop. All this work was done in 3 days by *** who were very friendly and professional throughout. The paving took about 3 hours and then the job was done. It all looks fantastic! I highly recommend this company. The ***, and all his workers were always concerned that we got what we wanted and liked the finished result.

We recently had this company replace our garage floor and front step, do an interlocking brick border and front walk, and replace the pavement on the driveway. We would like to commend the high level of professionalism of *** as well as the quality of work done by his concrete, landscaping and paving crews, which include ***, among others.

They were FANTASTIC. They showed up when they said they would, they were polite and explained everything that they were doing to my husband and I. The crew knew each other and were laughing with each other and worked together splendidly.
Altogether a most pleasant experience and I would certainly recommend them to anyone who
asks me who I got to do the work. I have already recommended them to a few of my neighbours.
The driveway looks superb.

Ottawa Pavemaster replaced my front steps, put in a brick walkway and paved my driveway. The final product is beautiful. The work went exactly as *** had promised. Everything was on time and the crew cleaned up after each day. They showed up at 7 and worked until 6 almost every day. The interlock brick guy was clearly very experienced. All the crew members were very respectful and professional. I recommend this company.

My asphalt driveway was replaced and interlocking brick used to edge it. In addition, the front porch step and walkway leading up to it were replaced. Both the interlocking brick and the paving crews did an excellent job. I would highly recommend Ottawa Pavemaster. Thanks very much!

When excellence is achieved, it should be noted. My neighbour and I recently had our driveways and walkways rebuilt (week of July 15, 2019). The work was so superior, I won't hesitate in saying City roadcrews working on streets couldn't do as incredible a job. Both the stone crew for the walkways, and the paving crew, were not only very professional, but knowledgeable (and eager to share that knowledge and clearly dedicated to their work. I expect this quality of work will last decades; no exaggeration. You could find better for such work in the Ottawa area. The other amazing thing about this company is that they will advise you what does NOT need doing. They aren't out to sell any old thing or service. With that alone, I can't recommend any higher than top notch. Get other quotes if you must, then settle on Pavemaster.

Ottawa Pavemaster did a wonderful job. The crew is efficient and professional. The quotes was competitive, fair and completely honoured. They had to dig a little deeper because of the conditions with no extra cost.

I just had my asphalt driveway replaced, as well as front interlock steps lifted and re-leveled. I am very happy with the job done. Different crews for paving and interlock, and both were very pleasant and polite. You can see that people are quite experienced, and have been working together for many years. Pricing was competitive, and *** (the owner) always kept his word when he promised to either come in person, or to call back - not that many contractors out there are like that. Definitely would recommend them to anyone.

I would like to thank all from Ottawa Pavemaster for the wonderful job they did on paving my laneway and installing the interlock for my walkway and landing. Everyone was very friendly and went way beyond my expectations. Thank you all.

The front entrance of my townhouse and my driveway had sunk over the years. I contacted Ottawa Pavemaster Ltd as well as three other companies to provide recommendations for repair.
I met with ***. I was incredibly impressed with his professionalism. He analysed the current conditions and provided recommendations and assisted with the design and the choice of stones. He returned to my house several times to assist and reassure me with my final decision. My entrance was done in stones and my driveway was completely repaved. The workmanship of his staff in cutting and laying of the stone is quite remarkable. I was also directed to view other jobs this company had completed. It is through the excellence of their work and attention to detail that I highly recommend them.

Ottawa Pavemaster Ltd installed new pavement and interlock trim on my driveway last week. The interlock crew was very conscientious, courteous and did an excellent job. They were very personable, approachable and were willing to offer information as requested. The asphalt crew were also very conscientious and courteous and did a great job. Once they finished the installation, they left the driveway and work area very clean . I will definitely recommend this contractor to any friends who are considering repaving or interlock work.

Following a job that was done by Ottawa PaveMaster, some problems have occurred. Many attempts have been made to contact the company, without success

Following an asphalt job that was done back at the end of May 2018 by Ottawa PaveMaster.
Two issues have surfaced with the work that was done. Back in June 30th 2018, a defective spot on the asphalt was noted. Some emails and multiple phone calls had been made informing of the issue and asking for a solution. However, no replies where made by the company.

On October 1rst 2018, another defective spot on the asphalt was noted. Again, we made multiple attempts to get a hold of the company and\or the owner. Emails were sent and phone calls/voicemails were left in the hope of addressing the issues. We never received an answer or a reply from the company and/or the owner.

I would to make a formal complaint to address these issues. I would like to receive a response in order to have these problems resolved.

PROBLEM I - June 30th
The problem noted on this date was a surface of the asphalt near the street side of the driveway seemed deformed.

PROBLEM II - October 1rst
The problem noted on this date was an area of the asphalt near the garage, was extruded.

*Pictures of the defective areas were taken and provided to the company and owner.

Ottawa Pavemaster did a fantastic job of doing our asphalt driveway, concrete garage floor and interlock walk way. *** and his crew was polite and very professional. They listen to our requirements and delivered a fantastic finish. Close to the end of our project, *** made a slight change to the interlock design and they were able to accommodate the change. We have received many compliments from the neighbourhood. The crew were respectful and cleaned the work area at the end of the project. I have no hesitation in recommending Ottawa Pavemaster to anyone.

We were recently part of a multi family group that hired Ottawa Pavemaster to do driveways and fix interlocking where necessary. Our project is complete and we are extremely pleased with the job as well as Ottawa Pavemaster and their crews. *** provided the quote and explanation of how the job would go and he was very thorough. The crews were excellent, very friendly, respectful and worked very hard. After the job was done we had one question and *** personally came out to discuss the matter to our satisfaction. Overall they are a great company to deal with and I would recommend them.

Ours was a street project-21 homes all deciding to get our driveways repaved at the same time. After carefully researching 6 companies, Ottawa Pavemaster was our choice. ***, ***, is an honest, hard working businessman who really cares to deliver a good product. Pricing is competitive. His crews (both interlock and paving) are very professional, service oriented, know their stuff and deliver an excellent job. They respect your property and leave the job clean. They take pride in their work and the company they work for. I wanted to make a last minute unexpected change and everyone was so responsive and very accommodating. I am very pleased with the finished job and recommend them highly.

Ottawa Pave Master recently replaced my driveway. I was part of a neighbourhood group (i.e. many of my neighbours also had their driveways done at the same time). While the work was in progress, I walked the neighbourhood; thus, my opinion is from that view point.

This is the sequence of events:

First, they raised and leveled all the interlock and patio paver blocks abutting to the driveways.

Second they removed the old asphalt being very careful not to disturbed the existing driveway gravel foundation, add gravel, compacted (with vibrating plate compactor) and compacted again, rolled (with a 3-ton roller) and rolled and rolled and rolled again while watering the gravel between rollings.

Third, after a few days, they did a final grading of the driveway with the paving machine and then rolled three times with the 3-ton roller.

Fourth, they laid the asphalt with the paving machine and then rolled it four times with the 3-ton roller. The crew made the extra effort in hand tamping the asphalt in the corners and edges to match the result of the 3-ton roller.

I am very happy with the my new driveway. The crew member that appeared to be the leader on my driveway was *** (he has the name *** on his arm) worked very hard, carefully, and very neat (made sure my property was neat and tidy at the end of each day). The rest of the crew was also outstanding in their workmanship and politeness.

I intend to contribute another review of my driveway in about year from now as time is the true test of a quality product.

Homeowners please know that asphalt paving is a hot and dirty job, consider giving the crew cold water especially during the hot humid days. They do bring their own food and drink; but, the insulated cooler boxes cannot stand-up to a sunny +30 degree Celsius day. It is the human thing to do!
