I saw their ad on [redacted], called and hired them. The terms were $24.99/hour + 1 hour trip charge + 22% gas fee. When they showed up they wanted another $19 for their gas from the office to our home and a 26% gas fee. I told them no so they called '[redacted]' and put me on the phone. [redacted] stated that if I didn't pay the $19 that he would send the movers away. I argued for awhile and he 'allowed' the 22% gas fee but wouldn't budge on the $19 - I finally agreed to pay it. Then he wanted me to pay the movers $200 as soon as we got to the new home - before unloading. I told him I wouldn't do that because I wouldn't have any idea how much the final bill would be as it's an hourly rate. Since I wouldn't agree to that he then decided that I needed to pay $200 before they even touched a single item and if I didn't he would send his movers away. I told him what he was doing was illegal and extortion. He was incredibly rude and wouldn't listen to anything we had to say. He just kept stating that we had to pay $200 or they would leave. Makes me think they had another possible move that was paying more and he wanted to get his guys out of there. The movers told me that [redacted] was the owner. Really? This is the way you treat your customers? And what makes it even worse is that we were return customers. We had been happy with them until this experience. AND we had recommended them to someone else. [redacted] knew all this and still treated us horribly. We won't make this mistake again.
