Review: Orleans sold me a home for $489,900 that was built with Chinese Dry Wall. This has had a catastrophic affect on my family's financial well being.

Orleans sold me a $489,000 home with Chinese Drywall. This resulted in catastrophic financial hardship for my family. Orleans has done nothing.

I purchased a home in [redacted], VA from Orleans for $489,000 in October 2006. On 29 Sep 2010 I received notification that my house was constructed with 124 sheets of Chinese Dry Wall. The estimated cost to remediate the house utilizing established CDW remediation standard was $87 per square foot or an estimated at $273,180 (3,140 sq ft x $87). Due to the costs for remediation, the house was foreclosed on in February 2013. I contacted Parker Orleans numerous times and they refused to return my calls. Due to the CDW contamination the county assessed the value of the house from $445,300 to $140,000. The structure was assessed at $1,000.Desired Settlement: I am requesting the refund of $344,000 for the loss of value to my home due to Orleans using Chinese Dry Wall to construct the home. Although the home has been lost to foreclosure, the payment of the above will mitigate, in small part, the substantial devastation done to my family's finances and future earning potential.
