The smoothest car buying experience to date. Al did a great job of meeting my needs and the car was a perfect fit!

Auto Repair
On May 8th 2020, I took my Volkswagen CC car to Volkswagen of Orlando North for leaking coolant. I was told I had to pay a Diagnostic fee of $129.95 to check on issues regarding my car. They came back to me and told me I needed to spend over $2000 to fix the issues, insisting that they more than one issue involved. The receipt and statements from the Sales Man Mr Mark A have been stating that they had performed not one but 2 inspections on my vehicle is attached to it is Invoice No.***. They came up with the diagnosis, I have also attached the document Invoice ***. I brought in the car on June 14th, 2020 to be fixed and a coupon of 15% was added and I paid the total of $1657.14. Another inspection was performed on that date please see Invoice No 364622, Volkswagen Orlando North put it in writing and I quote "Performed Multipoint Inspection and found no other service or repairs needed at this time". I paid the $1657.14 drove out the dealer ship and the car could not even make it home. The distance between my home and the dealership is 23 miles. The check engine light and the EPC light turned on. I contact VW Orlando North the very next day and they say bring it in, I get there and the expect me to pay them more money to fix my car. The Salesman is now lying claiming that this is normal procedure. I have two documents clearing stating in writing that 2 multipoint inspections and a third service diagnosis, (I was charged $139.03 for) were performed and 3 services costing $1657.14 were recommended, this is misleading, this is corrupt. I went in for one issue, they recommended I pay for 3 issues. I paid for the 3 issues to be fixed and the car could not even make it home from the dealership after being "fixed". Now the same company wants me to pay more money to "fix the car", they forgot I have a document in writing for them on the day of service stating clearly in writing that no other issues or repairs are need at this time. The car they fixed could not drive 23 miles. My car could make a 23 mile journey to dealership and was completely drivable all I had to do was keep topping of the coolant each day, but after spending $1796.17 at VW Orlando North to service the issues they recommended, it could not make a 23 mile journey back home and had to be towed. This is criminal and I need to hear from their Corporate Division. I need my car fixed or my money refunded.

Desired Outcome

They should fix my car.

When the customer originally came in, it was listed strictly for a "coolant light/leak condition". During the diagnoses the technician verified that there was coolant leaking from the primary and the secondary water pumps. In addition, there was an oil leak from the upper timing chain cover which in fact caused the primary water pump leak. (Hence why "coming in for 1 issue" turned into "3 issues") It was all to correct the initial concern. The customer and I spoke by phone and via email about the cost of the needed repairs, whether he could "wait on some of the recommended repairs" and what the cost would be after his coupon that he received. He also stated that he had read about possibly doing the timing chain, guides and tensioner during the recommended repairs as he had read that they are a known failure. I provided the additional cost for the timing chain job in which he declined. He then scheduled an appointment to come in and had the originally recommended repairs performed. At time of write up, during original diagnoses visit and upon return for the repairs, the check engine light and E.P.C. light were not on. We performed the repairs, then released the car to the customer. He called me the very next day and stated those lights had come on. I told him to of course bring the vehicle back in so that I can have the issue diagnosed (in which he was of course not charged additional money for). During that diagnoses we verified that the faults in the system were present due to a defective intake manifold and wiring to the throttle valve assembly. Possibly leading to the need of a throttle valve assembly. Both of which are unfortunately common on this make and model.

After explaining to the customer the needed repairs and findings he then asked "how could they not find this during the initial inspections that were performed. I stated that since there were no lights on, there was no reason to perform a scan/guided fault findings. Being upset, he did not give me the chance to state to him that when the vehicle is scanned and faults are found, the date on the log of the faults was the same date as to when he called about the lights coming on.

In doing the repairs we did perform, there is no relation to the faults and needed repairs that are current.

In relation to the customers concern to us performing 2 multi point inspections during his last 2 visits. The multi point inspection is only a visual inspection. If we need to perform any type of scan, or guided fault findings in relation to concern, the customer would sign for a diagnoses fee. If there are no lights or a reason to do so, we would not perform a scan or ask a customer to sign for diagnoses.

I am glad your company finally responded after 13 days with less than 12 hours to the expiration of the Revdex.com's deadline, it shows how seriously your Business values customer service.

I do not accept you flippant excuse for your's company's bait and switch sales Technic and this why :

The car has not been able to move since the day your Dealership "fixed" it.

My sole purpose of coming to your Dealership was to fix my car, and right now the car is not working, and has not worked since it left your dealership. You need to take responsibility for that.

The first time I came in, you insisted I pay for the diagnosis. You insisted. I paid for the diagnosis and you insisted that 2 other issues needed to be fixed. You insisted. I paid for two other issues to be "fixed".

You also performed two other Multipoint inspections as you have stated in your invoices: Your company never listed any other problems infact you stated in your final invoice on the day I was picking up the car and I quote " No other repairs needed". Read your invoice.
Well the car you"fixed" could not make a 23 mile journey from your dealership to my home on the very day you "fixed" it. It shut off.

If you have any value for your reputation as a VW Dealership, you would not charge a customer $1796.17 to fix his car, and come up with excuses like we did not scan the vehicle during the first diagnosis we charged the customer $140 for and we did not Scan the vehicle again during the subsequent 2 multi point inspections before we handed over the car to the customer.

Your company calls itself a VW Dealership and I brought you a VW car to fix, you statement here clearly states that the Check Engine light and the EPC came on, on the same day you claimed to have fixed the vehicle. Then what did you "fix"?

You charged me for a diagnosis and somehow, you did not scan the vehicle? Then what did you "diagnose?"

If you cannot fix my car for the amount you quoted me after you insisted on additional repairs, then return my money. If Litigation and Social Media are my next options then so be it.

I have attached your invoices you might want to read them.

I bought a car for $9999.00. I put $5500.00 down. Left $4400.00 to finance. I assumed I was dealing with honest professionals! I could not see the figures on the contract, they were too small for me to see. He showed me where to sign and initial the papers. I left with the car. I was not aware of all the costs they added without my knowledge until a financing contract from GM Financial came in the mail of what they put in there..... I called GM Financial and told them it was wrong and they told me to call the dealership, which I did. They were very cocky and said you signed the contract, nothing I could do or they would do!Spoke to General Manager as well, he told me the same. They would not take the car back and return my deposit.Or take off all the added charges they put on without my knowledge.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment After dealing with such dishonest people, my first thought is to return the car and get my deposit back. Go somewhere else. Or take off all the unwanted items they charged me for and finance the proper amount for the car. I have bought a few cars in my life and never dealt with such sneaky and dishonest people before! I truly feel there should be laws to protect consumers against people who do business in this manner.

The GM informed me that all products were discussed while going over the deal. One of the items she purchased was a warranty. When she called and spoke to the GM he said he was explaining everything to her when she hung up on him.

I did speak to the TH one time on the phone. After I had talked to the finance mgr. He told me I signed the contract and there was nothing he was going to do.So I asked to speak to the GM. He told me he was not in, TO call back later. I had a feeling he was and they did not want me to speak to him. I said goodbye and hung up. I called right back and they put me through to the GM.I explained the situation to him and he said the same as the finance mgr. That I signed the contract and there was nothing I could do about it. I told him I was going to call my attorney and he told me to go ahead, there was nothing he could do about it either.I said goodbye and hung up and called my attorney, who was very anxious to take the case after I sent him the paperwork. It is in his hands now. Not only were all the extra charges notexplained to me, they were never brought up at al l!!!! The only thing that was explained to me was that at no charge to me, I could bring the car in every six months and get it detailed and and a special coating be put on it to protect the paint. I certainly did not hang up on anyone!!! Why would I??? I needed their help I am so shocked that these people are lying like they are, I just can't imagine why they would do this to anyone! The majority of their business should getting people to buy from them again!!But they are very confident they can get away with doing business this way!!

I test drove and purchased a 2019 VW Tiguan from Orlando VW North on 12/21/19 in Florida. I am a New York resident and was told by the Used Car Sales Manager they license/register cars all the time for out of state purchases. On 12/21/19 at the sale completion temporary plates were placed on my car with an expiration date of 1/19/20. Today, 3/6/20 I received from the dealership my NY plates and registration. Issue being that since 1/19/20 I have not been able to drive my new vehicle as it was not licensed and registered. I have paid one month's car payment ($442.32 x 1) as well as two month's car insurance ($191.53 x 2) during this time for a car that has not been able to be driven and has been needed to be for transportation to and from work ($300 alternate transportation cost). Before proceeding with this purchase I specifically asked the dealership if they were able to complete the NY registration and was assured it would not be a problem. When I left the dealership in December I expected that by 1/19/20, when the temporary plates expired, I would have my permanent plates/registration. Never imagined no resolution until 3/6/20.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment As I was unable to drive my new car and had insurance premiums and a car payment during the period I feel I should to be compensated for $1,125.38 which is the total out of pocket expenses of owning a vehicle I couldn't drive while I was waiting for the dealer to complete this transaction. $442.32 ($442.32 x 1) Car Payment for February $383.06 ($191.53 x 2) Car Insurance half of January, February and beginning of March $300.00 Alternate transportation costs during waiting period.

We have been in contact with the customer since she left the dealership about her tag work. We needed a couple things in order to complete the title work, insurance card with proof on new car being insured, and a copy of her driver's license because it was expiring. Once we received this info from the customer we submitted for the title work to the state of New York to be done. This customer could have called us and let us know her temp tag was expiring we could have sent her a new temp tag until we were able to complete the title work.

We paid for the key according to VW website, but received it missing the insert. The *** location refuse to give it to us, we paid prior to see it.
We took the car in to have a new key fob made. They asked us to pay ahead of time to guarantee we would use their key, from VW. Once the key came in, we took the car in to have it programmed to the car. When we got the car at the end of the day, the key had the insert piece missing. We didn't buy the key on the black-market, we bought from the dealer, we pay for a top of the line, extremely expensive key. We had suggested purchasing it from Amazon or other websites that will deliver the key with the VW sign in the back, but the company said they would not give warranty if we purchased somewhere else. So, to receive a key that does not have all of the pieces attached to it is extremely disappointing, especially when the website shows how the key is. We have made several attempts to get the missing insert, but VW David Maus has continuously reject to give us the missing part. They suggest that we buy the missing part and pay additional dollars, even thought the VW website shows the key with the insert, when you buy it. Attached you will see how the key, from the VW website should be and I have circled the missing part. I wonder how many customers they have misled just on keys.

Desired Outcome

The money has already been paid for the key. We either need the whole key for no extra charge or 100% of the money back. I'll return the half key if the company desires, there are other companies that will do the job cheaper. Also, for the inconvenience, we should get some money back. I believe the key alone with service was over $300.

We were able to contact the customer and provide a resolution. They key will be shipped directly to the customer

Thank you for sending the key fob insert (and the calendar), it even came cut to fit the car door (which I did not expect). The only sad part was, I had to resource to a formal complaint to be heard from the company, since our prior 3 attempts were not successful.

Daniel B was great! I'd refer my friends to him if they were in the market for a new car. Great customer service!

I purchased 2015 VW Passat from David Maus VW north remotely from and paid a transport company to deliver it to my Daughter in Texas. I was told by the sales person that there were no noticeable scratches or dents and received pictures and video, but it was hard to see detail. The car arrived in Dallas and my daughter immediately noticed a dent in the passenger door. She asked the transport person about the dent and he told her the dealer knew about it. In fact, the driver noticed it immediately and had the sales person acknowledge the damage in writing. This driver gave my daughter the signed form with the sales person acknowledging the dent. I contacted the salesman about the dent and he said he know nothing about it. I told him that I had a signed acknowledgment of the dent with his signature. He told me he did not remember doing that (I have a text trail to prove it). I asked him to provide an affidavit saying he did not sign it, he would not. I sent an email to the dealer GM with the damage acknowledgement and the repair estimate of $833 from a Dallas VW dealer. No one from that dealer contacted me back (I made several attempts) so I reported it to VW USA and they spoke with the dealer which gave no explanation and would not fix the damage. Very dishonest.

Desired Outcome

Repair Fix the damage they knew about but did not disclose to me. They can fix with the estimate furnished or any reputable shop

The customer insisted on retaining the transport company for this transaction. The salesperson sent a video of the unit before transport. There was not damage on the car when it left our dealership.

Customer Response • Aug 27, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Totally unacceptable answer and a lie. I was told that I had to retain my own transport company when I asked them to ship the car. Also, If there was no damage, then why would the sales person sign a form acknowledging the damage before it left the dealer when asked to do so by the transport company that noticed the dent right away. The transport company does this so it is very clear who is responsible for any damage. The sales person never told me about it and denied that he signed the form until I told him I wanted an affidavit from him stating he did not sign the form so I could address it with the transport company which would have made up the letter and committed fraud. The dealer sales person then admitted he signed the from acknowledging the damage and asked me how he could make it right. I told him I would get an estimate to fix it from a reputable dealership near my daughter. Not sure why the dealer is claiming that there was not damage and it happened during transport when the sales person signed a document saying the damage was there before it left the dealership. I have furnished the sigend acknowledgment document to them with the estimate (I have the text trail verifying my story as well). Very dishonest dealership and so far, won't make it right and repair the damage.
