I had a membership with orange theory(maple valley, WA). I called to cancel my membership and the employee on the phone convinced me to freeze my account instead, so I did. She did not mention to me that I had to sign any documentation. During that time I had fraud on my credit card and got a new card so the card I had on file with them no longer worked for them to charge me. After 5 months I was under the impression my account was frozen until I got a letter from a collection agency that I owed them over $500. I called the studio only to be told I had to pay and had no help. My biggest complaint in this situation is that why they let 5 months go by and not once have they sent me any notice that I owed them any money. How can a company not send you any notices that you are past due on a bill and just send you to collections'! That is completely ridiculous!Product_Or_Service: Fitness membership
We received this complaint in the mail and below is our response:
We contacted this member via telephone on 10/24/2018, 01/02/2019, 03/11/2019, 04/04/2019. They also received automated emails regarding their critical account on the first eight days of each month the account declined: totaling 32 emails. After speaking with this customer in January, we had agreed to pay one month last payment but we never heard back. After two months of declines, her the account was sent to a third party collections per our membership agreement. We have forgiven the past debt in our system and with the third party collections.
