I became an orangetheory fitness member in September, and attended a few classes. I did enjoy the classes, however, the membership costs were a little high, and a few months later I was injured in an unrelated accident. I’ve had my membership frozen for awhile, but my injury is serious now, and I am probably getting surgery soon, so I have decided to cancel my membership. However, the orangetheory cancellation policy insists that I have one more month of workouts. But like I said, I am injured and won’t be going to those classes, so it seems ridiculous that I have to be charged $100 in order for me to cancel my membership, especially considering that I will not be taking any of the classes.
Hey ***,
I'm sorry you felt you couldn't explain your complaint to us as a business to get this resolved. As a studio policy, yes we have a 30 day cancellation policy. However, for injury or emergency of any kind we waive the 30 days. I think some miscommunication or misinformation as been effecting your experience with us. I gave you a quick call to give you some options. If you'd like to cancel we can do that asap with no further charges. I'm thinking the reason why we keep guiding you to extend your freeze is because you have a 7 classes you still haven't used but you've paid for. This "freeze" keeps your classes you've paid for until you are ready to use them. We have also waived the freeze fee for you due to it being because of injury. Please give me a call at the studio to further explain any questions or concerns.
