Subject: Complaint Number ***, Oral Surgery PlusThis morning I received a phone call from “Holly” at Oral Surgery Plus.It was an extremely polite conversation wherein she explained her position and why she called my son…it was because he was listed as “next of kin” on their paperwork. As far as
I am concerned, the matter is closed I still am angry that she felt it necessary to contact a “next of kin” on this matter, but there was and is no purpose in drawing this matter out I very much appreciate your assistance in this matter, and I will not be referring or using Oral Surgery Plus in the future!
Be very very careful of this business! Before you get ANY work done at Oral Surgery Plus, PLEASE PLEASE go to a couple of "regular old time dentists," not the high tech fancy modern ones that might in some way benefit by giving OSP their extractions/root canals.
This practice does A LOT of dental implants, jaw bone grafting, and other "new" (very, very expensive) procedures. PLEASE, if someone there argues that your TEETH need to be extracted by THEM, do NOT take that as gospel, REFUSE to believe the dentist , go and get the professional opinion of SEVERAL dentists who have practiced for a long time , mainline, ordinary dentistry (they do their own root canals and extractions, etc.) See what THESE DENTISTS TELL YOU. (i.e., the dentists who DON'T charge high prices for "dental surgery," "dental implants,", "bone grafts," etc.) If possible take a second party with you through all this. Get a PAPER Diagnosis and treatment recommendation from Oral Surgery Plus.
If you do the above, you may save yourself quite a bit of time, money and just general hassle.
Initially there was a $350 over estimate and subsequent over payment for services rendered. It took over a month to get the overpayment back. On the next to last visit the dentist informed me that I would need to pay an additional $350 to complete the procedure. After I complained about paying for all services in full (and actually more) before procedures started, the dentist said he would comp and not charge the extra $350 for the last hardware to be installed. That made me feel very uncomfortable in getting services and not paying for them. When I got home I noticed on my billing summary that I had already paid for that $350 hardware. I believe this was an attempt to get extra money by double billing for that hardware. The dentist should have at least looked at my file to see if I had already paid in advance before demanding more money. On last visit I confronted the dentist and he said the potential double payment would have been caught eventually. But on other hand, maybe not.
