I had a terrible experience going to this club, I went on my birthday with my sister and before coming here we had a couple drinks like most peopleUnfortunately I had eaten way too much of the fatty food and for someone who usually eats healthy and who used to be pounds, my body automatically rejects the fattinessI had to use the restroom to throw up because I was not going to obviously throw up all over the dance floorSo we were having fun and all of a sudden one of the guys that works there pulls me to the side and tells me I have to leave because I am too intoxicated, to which my sister asks how is she too intoxicated if she is not falling, she is not doing anythingWe both just wanted a logical explanation to why we were being targeted, so I asked "just because someone vomits does that mean they are too intoxicated?" All these guys at the door except for one or two who work at that club were uneducated and didn't even bother to give a proper explanation, the worse one was the one who told me I had to leave, he even threatened me with jail when I was asking how am I too intoxicatedLast time I checked this is the US and I have the right to an explanation if something unfair is being done to meThey treated us like we assaulted someone or did something wrong which we obviously didn't, all we wanted was to celebrate my birthday; my sister was crying because she wanted this to be a special night for me and not even minutes in we were thrown out

Review: My girlfriend and I were emailed that there would be complimentary drinks and a hosted bar from 9-10 pm on October 31 2013. This was also posted on the onyx room's facebook page: [redacted]theater

When I got to the onyx room I was told that the drinks were 2 for 1. I asked the manager and he said that was the special. This is bait and switch advertising.

I received the following email from the Onyx Room on October 29, 2013.

"We're doing it all over again on

HALLOWEEN NIGHT!

Knowing our friends and customers spent a lot of money on their costumes and partying all weekend,

ONYX ROOM is offering a

COMPLIMENTARY COCKTAIL hour from 9-10PM and COMPLIMENTARY GUEST LIST until MIDNIGHT!

We must have full names for complimentary cocktail hour guest list, no pluses allowed!"

This is the email, in it's ENTIRETY, that was sent to us. On October 31st, my girlfriend and I each put our names on the guest list for Halloween night at Onyx Room. As per their instructions, we each put our full names on the list and did not put down +1. Hosted and complimentary means free drinks. The deal was not honored.

One important issue of beverage functions is who pays for the drinks. There are three main scenarios:

a cash bar (a.k.a. a no-host bar): Attendees pay for their own drinks.

a cash bar with tickets: The host issues vouchers to attendees for a limited number of free drinks, and attendees pay for any further drinks themselves.

a host bar (a.k.a. an open bar): The host pays for all drinks, either by the hour, by the bottle, by the drink, or per personDesired Settlement: My girlfriend and I would like to get the original advetised deal: free drinks for an hour.
