Ontarios Finest Inns

My husband, ***, and I received a $70 OFI gift card as a Christmas gift. When we attempted to use it at one of the Inns, the card was not accepted by the system. I promptly notified OFI, via an email, of the situation and I requested a refund. Instead of issuing the refund (or even an apology), OFI directed me to contact the administrator of the gift cards. When I called and spoke directly with said administrator, I was advised that the gift card should have been honored without difficulty. I again emailed OFI and I reiterated that we reasonably expected a refund. I was told that they do not issue refunds. I said that given the situation they ought to immediately implement a refund policy. (The 'solution' offered by OFI was to try to use the gift card at an Inn and I said that the same situation might reoccur - that the faulty card might not be accepted and that we would again be paying out of pocket.) I then requested that all of my emails be forwarded to the supervisor and that said supervisor contact me at their earliest convenience. I was advised that there was no one higher to contact at OFI. I responded that everyone is accountable to someone and I asked who else I could follow up with. I was advised by OFI that they consider the case closed. As such, I am following up with the Revdex.com. I find the fact that OFI will not honor their gift card to be unacceptable. I was also more than displeased with how OFI chose to handle my concern. In my opinion, they were dismissive and then shockingly uninterested in helping us achieve a resolution.
