O'Neal Electric

I had O'Neal Electric do very simple elec. work on a remodel job. A quick, simple task of RELOCATING two switches (one was a 3-way on a system already existing); REMOVING one outside light fixture (no problem, exterior mounted); INSTALLING a new exterior light replacing the old (provided by me) in open, new construction, and; ADDING an exterior outlet to the existing 3-way set up. To ACCOMPLISH, all that was really needed was to add three approximate 8 ft lengths of 12/3 & 12/2 wire to existing lines in a junction box & run through conduit to the new location of switches (old switches used), light & outlet (all were located in close proximity- apx 3 feet). NOTE: All this was on an already existing GFI circuit. IT TOOK 7 1/2 HOURS & COST ME $519. I KNOW I could have done in 2- 2 1/2 hrs. I am quite accomplished at elec. work. I would have done but the Village Architectural rep said I needed to get a licensed Electrician and it would cost only a minimal amt, ALSO, When the electrician was done, he couldn't get it to work. HE HAD TO CALL HIS BOSS and have him come over to get it to work. Before, I watched him fumble around for about an hour randomly connecting and disconnecting from terminals and wire nuts. I WANTED TO intervene, but did not. I FELT he was incompetent. I SHOULD NOT BE CHARGED FOR HIS INCOMPETENCY!!!!
