Had company out for cleaning and asked about recommendation on getting more heat out of fireplace,Scott recommended metal sheets installed to reflect heat,metal sheets bowed and trapped heat and cracked new inserts he just replaced.contacted other fireplace company's ,and they said metal sheets never should be used on wood burning fireplace and new inserts should always be cured through low heat fires,Scott was out and replaced back panel that cracked but not side panel due to no metal covering it when you are not even required to to use metal plates,original inserts lasted 30 yrs without metal plates
