We contacted On the Level (OTL) after uncovering a black mold infestation. The mold was far worse than anticipated and not only required indoor remediation, but remediation of the duct-work, crawl space, and removal of insulation. OTL was incredibly responsive. They held to all estimates, and went above and beyond to take care of other issues that arose in the home renovation project. They were incredibly flexible, working on weekends and prioritizing our case due. I was particularly concerned about the mold infestation. They not only provided reassurance, but treated the house multiple times to my specificity, without additional charge. I feel confident in their work and truly appreciate the incredible customer service, attentiveness, and support. They took care of all removal of materials and reviewed all areas that were of concern while going above and beyond to check areas that were not of concern. I would highly recommend for all mold, crawlspace, and renovation needs.
These customers were very easy to work for, they trusted us with their home without being present. I was very concerned for them and their exposure to any potential toxic Mold. The process went very smooth and was glad that they called us to handle their needs... exceptional customers!
Paid over 6000.00 to have waterproofing done at the back of my house. I am still getting water in my den when there is heavy rain.
4 calls have been made to this company in the last 3 weeks. Last call said that someone would be out here today. Second and third calls were "hasn't anyone been out there yet ". Water is coming in around the fireplace and sometimes water is half way across the den. I don't think the area (under a bedroom deck) was sealed. I've had water come in 3 times in the last few months. I am a 72 year old widow with COPD, it's hard for me to get the water up plus it has stained the grout on the floor. Also my yard was left uneven which allows water to come under the deck and in the house. After spending over 6000.00 I just want it fixed so that I don't have to panic every time it rains.
Finish sealing the area under the deck and level out the back yard, replant grass area.
We met with *** June 24th and we agreed to come and add more dirt, there was never a implied warranty because she did not follow our recommendation and chose to do the Waterproofing on the outside if house. No written guarantee, however, I did agree to add some more dirt where water washed it out by foundation. We advised *** that if it doesnt stop the water she can take out a warranty but will have to pay for it. Thanks...
I contracted with OTL to install a french drain in a basement and mode remediation at a rental property I had purchased. The installation was completed as scheduled. Later we had some issues after going through several rain storms, but OTL was very responsive and fined tuned the environment to correct the issues with no reluctance and no charge. Very pleased with their integrity to support the customer.
Thanks Mr. we were very pleased with allowing us to perform the work for you.
On the Level contacted us for emergency service to repair a broken main water line.
On the level contacted us to perform emergency after hours service to repair a main water line break at Welcome *** in ***. This was on March 21, 2019. We performed the service and we were told that payment would be brought to our office. We have repeatedly called, emailed, and even sent
a technician to their office to collect the payment. We have received several promises that a check would be mailed or brought by. Nothing has been received from this company. We promptly took care of the service for them, but they have not came through with payment.
Payment of $523.32 that is owed for invoice # 8322.
A check was mailed to his business on Tuesday may 22nd in the full amount owed. Thanks
I had what I thought was an estimate done when in reality I was signing a brief not itemized contract. I am not able to get my deposit back.
On 11-06-18 a representative of On the Level came to my home for an estimate. I signed a single page that was referred to as an estimate and gave a deposit of $7,800. After getting other estimates I decided to use another contractor and was told I cannot get my deposit back.
Refund my $7,800.
Mrs*** signed a contract and wrote a check to on the level to schedule work. Josh S explained all deposits are non refundable. It clearly states on front of the contract that after the three day right to cancel has passed that all deposits are non refundable. This had been weeks. I have been taken to court before over the same matter and a judge in Catawba County found in our favor. A contract is a contract. Mrs*** should have had several estimates at the time, not over a month later. We will be glad to honor the contract and perform the work, however, the deposit is non refundable. Best regards, Daniel E

After my complaint, On the Level began the work and it was completed on Feb. 7, 2019. I paid them in full on that day. However, my floor is so unlevel that I am not able to have flooring installed and there is still water coming in to the basement. After many phone calls, a worker came and painted some waterproofing on the basement walls. This did not solve the problem and nothing has been done to address the floors. In short, I have upheld by end of this contract and now I am not even able to get anyone from this company to return a text or phone call.
Sincerely,
***.
I am the owner of on the level and I have had no one call my business phone at *** EEvidently Mrs*** has only called Joshua S. Have her call me so I can schedule a day to look at her issues. Thx. Daniel E
Contracted service was not completed as per guarantee.
On The Level gave us what seemed to be a reasonable quote for fixing some structural issues in our house. They came out and did the work but then said to really fix the problem they would need to do more work - doubling the price. The contract stated the repairs would "re-level entire downstairs floor to with sic (95 - 98%) level. " The work was "completed" in August of 2016. The floors were still not level but the company said it might take time for the floors to settle. Floors were still not level by Apr 2017. I called and left a message requesting action on the issue. I repeatedly called and emailed. Finally had a meeting scheduled for May 11. Received an email cancelling 45 minutes beforehand. Despite repeated attempts on our part to schedule a meeting, company did not send out a representative until June! That person said he could not address our concerns since he wasn't the owner of the company.
In the meantime, we had found other issues with our upstairs that required a structural engineer and a general contractor. As they worked on the house, they found that On the Level had performed shoddy work not to code, e.g., metal jack stands, hanging and unsecured beams, improper connections, etc. The structural engineer said that On the Level's work would not level the house, no matter how long we waited.
In late July 2017 the owner of On the Level (OTL) finally came out to the site after many excuses and missed appointments. He admitted that the work done was sub par and blamed it on a crew he had hired that did poor work. (He had never come to check on the job during the project.) He argued that his company should have had a chance to fix the work before we hired a contractor! We pointed out that we had been calling since April to set up a meeting. He conceded that he would refund some of our money, redo mold treatment and reinstall insulation that had to be removed by contractor to really do the repairs.
In July of 2017, OTL remitted part of the agreed upon settlement. In October, OTL offered a change to the terms, cancelling the offer of the service and instead offering to pay us money for that service.
It is now 2018, and Mr E has failed to honor that contract. We would like for him to reimburse us the money agreed upon. And we believe the A+ rating by the Revdex.com should be removed. We would like to warn people not to use this company for structural work.
Our latest agreement stated that OTL would reimburse us a total of $5000. OTL has only paid us $1000. We would like the remaining $4000. We would also Revdex.com believe the rating for this company to be dropped because we have given this company every opportunity to make things right and because of the initial shoddy work.
The customer breached the warranty by hiring another contractor to perform work on the areas On The Level performed. Other contractors have the tendency to down grade other peoples work and seems this is what happened to coax them into spending more money then needed, after telling me what the other guy charged, they were def overcharged by them. The other work they are talking about with having to hire an engineer, well,it was hidden work which would have eventually needed done. I have dine hundreds of leveling jobs and given the opportunity to correct it was never an option for them.I met with them and we agreed out of court that I would reimburse part of their monies, I still intend too, however, I have had difficulty atm. I am working on getting that to them soon. As far as removing my A+ status, I have had complaints as all companies do and I handle all complaints as quickly as our schedule allows. I feel that is an unwarranted statement by the xxxxx. They have been dufficult to deal with and only demanding what they desire when they were the ones who breached the warranty allowing others to ( re do) our work without first allowing us to honor the guarantee. The other contractor was hired before they contacted us, not very fair to us. I will have their money we agreed on returned within 60 days of this reply. Best Regards, xxxxx

Again, we tried to get OTL to come out last April. You did not come out to see the house until July. We only had a limited amount of time to do this work.
The professional engineer we hired for the other problem inspected your work and said that a significant portion needed to be torn out and replaced. Much of the work was not to code. He strongly recommended that we not let you do any other structural work on the house.
You agreed the work was subpar and as part of the compensation you would reinstall insulation by last August and reimburse us for some of the shoddy work. The house has been uninsulated all winter. You have come up with multiple excuses for missing the deadlines. I feel like we've been beyond reasonable.
We filed a complaint (case #xxxxx) against On the Level Mold and Repair Services on Feb 8, 2018. We were asking for this company's rating to be dropped with the Revdex.com and to be reimbursed by OTL as our contract with them stated. The owner of the company, xxxxx, responded on Feb 15 " The money will be sent within 60 days, even tho' I dont agree with the claim. " It has now been over 60 days and the owner has still not honored the contract. Why does this company still have an A+ rating? There are 7 other similar complaints filed. The owner keeps having the same excuses.
As I understand this process of filing complaints with the Revdex.com, there can not be a claim filed in court while you are listing your complaint with the bureau. So, I imagine there may be other cases in the courts with this business. Other customers should be warned. Are there any further steps we can take to get this company's rating reduced?
In my last response, I asked for an address to mail payments. As soon as I am provided with one, I will start sending the payments as promised.
Paid them to repair foundation issues & within the time frame for warranty, the foundation started cracking again but couldn't get anyone to respond.
I hired On the Level to do foundation & porch repair work. Despite having a rocky start to the job(delayed start, not showing up to work, etc.) I had already paid a down payment so had no choice but to let them complete the job. Thought they had done a decent job when it was all said & done. But within no time(maybe 6 months), started having issues with cracks reappearing. Called them repeatedly only to get no response & was even told by someone who did call me back that they had went out of business. I have tried settling this with them with no success. The total amount I paid them was $6,700.00 The job was completed in April 2016 & I have been calling them many times monthly since October of 2016. I now know they have no intentions of making anything right.
At this time, I would just like my money back so that I may get someone else to do the job before the issues get any worse & they seem to be doing that daily. The total amount I paid them was $6,700.00. I cannot afford to pay someone else to do a job that they promised to do.
I had a manager by the name of *** whom no longer works here, he was a disgruntled employee. I am sure he is the one who told her we went out of business which was false. I have no record of speaking to Mrs *** myself, only notes from *** saying she needed some adjustments on foundation. I assumed he had handled this matter. I stand by warranties, if Mrs *** wants us to evaluate her issues, she can write a letter requesting warranty work needed and send to ***. And we will schedule a time to look at the issues to verify if their is reason for additional work to be done within scope of our origianal contract with her. However, her daughter has slandered our name on social media calling us crooks, etc. My attorney will be looking into that matter if it continues. We have no problem correcting issues within scope of warranty. Seems Mrs *** has been talking to the wrong people to resolve it. Thx, Daniel E.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept this response because I have reached out many times & either couldn't get anyone due to disconnected numbers or when I finally did reach someone, was told that they would come out & no one ever showed up. I have spoken with Daniel himself a few times & he promised to show up but didn't. I did not deal with a ***, maybe his brother as they have the same last name? Is he disgruntled also? Appears there is a lot of disgruntled employees? I should not have to write a letter, a simple phone call should be more than enough to get someone & that hasn't worked at all. As for my daughter, she did a review of his company & of course gave him a poor one, as deserved, & if he can't handle a honest review, maybe he shouldn't have a business page. It's not slander if it's the truth. I simply want my money back at this point so that I can hire someone else to do the job this company was supposed to. My porch has huge cracks in it, the paneling in my dining room is coming loose from the wall, etc. all things that were supposed to be fixed with the foundation repair. Anyone can come out & see that they did a terrible job.
The warranty details are explained by the salesman at time of contract signing, the years of warranty are on the contract. I have yet to receive any correspondence requesting a warranty claim. I will check my po box again today. Thx, Daniel
