Contracted with On 3 Graphics to print and hang signage at 11 self storage facilities. Upon receiving bids and invoices for 11 locations, we put 50% down on 9 of the locations/entities to the tune of $15,460 on 11/6/19 and an additional $1,057 on 12/26/19.
On 1/23/20 2 of the facilities were completed and On 3 Graphics was paid an additional $2,390 to close out those contracts. As of 2/3/20, On3 Graphics refuses to complete any additional work on the 9 remaining facilities unless we agree to and place an additional down payment on 17 other facilities. They clearly ran out of money and are internally trying to get more cash in order to complete the project. There was no agreement to completing 28 total facilities, yet contractor insists that they will only complete work on the 9 if we put down a substantially larger payment.
It strikes us as an internal ponzi scheme, attempting to use cash from future projects to fund prior projects. We gave the contractor the ability to complete each of the remaining 9 facilities one at a time and receive payment in full for each upon completion, and we also gave them the option to return the $14,235 we currently have extended to them in lieu of finishing the job.
They refused either and blatantly stated "we're not equipped to hang up signs on a day to day basis" and "it would not be financially smart for us to finish those 11 facilities without having 17 more to complete."
This is pure fraud and we received NO services for the 9 facilities / $14,235 that is still extended as a 50% down payment.
We were contracted to install signage for 28 of their facilities. All of those 28 facilities have been audited, proofed, and accepted for installation by the project manager for ***. We ordered material in bulk, rented all the equipment (1 month rental) for the entire job. 11 facilities have their 50% deposits paid, 17 we were still waiting on. ***t was aware they were getting "bulk pricing" for this job as it was discussed, agreed, and planned to complete 28 facilities in 1 trip. Our Lawyer is drafting a new/updated contract to complete the remaining 9 facilities, they will be receiving this via mail.
