Review: I brought my [redacted] watch in for a standard battery change on 3/13/13 and they told me that an additional part was needed (a crown or a water seal), which is fine; both sound like fairly common parts by the way. I assumed that since they are a licensed Movado and [redacted] watch repair shop that they would have the parts in stock, and if they didn't it would not take long to get. Two weeks later my wife called for an update on the watch and they told her that they were still waiting for the part from wherever they ordered it from. Today, 4/12/13, I called them to find out why this is taking so long and the lady I spoke with could not give me a time table as to when my watch would be done and she did not even offer an apology. I asked her if she could take my # and have someone call me with an update 3 times before she finally took my number, and didn't even ask me my name. I feel as though, because I am using my warranty as payment, and they are receiving no real compensation for time spent, that they are taking their time in repairing my $500 watch. I feel that it is unacceptable for a standard watch repair to take 4 weeks to complete. Nowhere on the planet does it take 4 weeks to have a part delivered. Even if the part needed to be built in [redacted] and shipped to the US would it take this long.Desired Settlement: I would like a formal apology from them stating that this was their mistake and will not happen to anyone else in the future. I would also like them to increase the warranty on my watch for another 2 years as reconciliation.
