Old Country Cheese

Review: I placed an order for $67 worth of cheese on Friday, October 11, 2013. The order was for my wedding on Sunday, October 20, 2013. Given that this was an order for perishable items, I placed the order close enough to the date of the event so the cheese would still be good to eat, but also left plenty of time for processing and shipping. Their website states that they ship orders on Mondays and Tuesdays, so I expected them to ship no later than the 15th of October.

After placing my order, I immediately received an email from Old Country Cheese thanking me for my order and providing a receipt. I immediately responded to the message (from [redacted]) explaining the time frame and asking for reassurance that my order would arrive on time. I received no response.

When Monday came, I checked my account and saw that there had been no charge from Old Country Cheese. I also did not receive a notice of shipment from them. I wrote to them again on Tuesday, October 15th, telling them my account had still not been charged and I'd received no notice of shipment, so was requesting a status update. Again, I received no response.

On Wednesday the 16th of October, I began searching their website for some other means of contacting them. I found an alternate email address ([redacted]) and wrote to them again, explaining my concerns and asking for a status update. At this point, I also informed them that if I didn't receive a response soon, I would have to cancel my order and buy the cheese somewhere else, as I was running out of time. I received no response.

On the same day, I also contacted them via their website's "Contact" form, sending the same basic message I had sent via email. I received no response.

On Friday, October 18th, I again contacted them via their website's "Contact" form and told them that I would unfortunately have to cancel my order with them because I was now out of time, the cheese had not arrived, my account had not been charged, and they'd failed to respond to all of my inquiries. I received no response, and went to Costco and bought 10lbs. of cheese. I got married on Sunday the 20th, convinced that the oldcountrycheese.com website was probably just abandoned.

However, on Tuesday, October 20th, 2013, I saw that Old Country Cheese had charged my bank account for everything that was left in it (which no longer covered the amount of that original order, as I'd spent the money on the cheese at Costco). There is now a hold on my account, leaving me with a balance of $0. I immediately called Old Country Cheese using the phone numbers on their website (not my preferred method of communication in business, as I like to have things in writing as a reference). I called both [redacted], and neither call was answered. Both calls were eventually disconnected without any opportunity to leave a voice message.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is for the charge to my account from Old Country Cheese be REVERSED IMMEDIATELY, and that NO FURTHER ATTEMPTS to charge my account be made. IF THEY HAVE ALREADY SHIPPED CHEESE TO ME, IT HAS NOT YET ARRIVED, BUT I WILL IMMEDIATELY RETURN IT TO THEM. I no longer want or need the cheese. My event is over and done. However, if they have sent the cheese to me, I EXPECT THEM TO COVER THE COST OF SHIPPING THE CHEESE BACK TO THEM.

After I receive my refund, I will no longer have any business dealings with Old Country Cheese, and will warn everyone I know to stay away from them, unless they improve their customer service considerably and develop some stronger business ethics.

We would be willing to refund her the partial payment cause that's all she got charged for and we don't not need the cheese back.
