Re: ID #***In reference to the complaint by *** *** on 8/3/2016, her husband came to our office for treatment of his tooth on 05/10/The cost of the procedure is $995.00, and the patient paid $at the time of service which is our office policyThe patient was informed at
the time that this was just an estimate of what the insurance may not coverMr*** signed a financial policy/responsibility when he came in for his visit (Attachment 1)An insurance claim was filed with his insurance Company by our office(Attachment 2) When the claim was paid by his insurance Company (***) they only paid $and stated that the remainder of the balance Was the patient's responsibility (Attachment 3)The patient should have also received a Copy of the Explanation of Benefits from his insurance companyThe claim was resolved and a statement was sent to the patient (Attachment 4)Our office has not to this date gotten a call from the patient or his wife with a complaint about getting a Statement from Our Office.Upon investigation with the insurance company, they also stated that the patient had not Contacted them to question why they only paid such a small amountHowever, during this investigation We did find out that the insurance filed the root canal under the Wrong Code and are putting the claim back through with the correct dental code that was filed With themTherefore they will possibly pay more toward the claim, the claim has been unresolved and no further statements will be sent to the patient until this is resolved with the insurance CompanyHowever the patient will still responsible for any unpaid balance by the insurance company per our financial policy.If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at the above listed phone number.*** *** ***
