Beware negligent, unethical, rude people at this company, and honestly for unclear reasons!
We have lived in our community for more than a decade and had an excellent HOA during the early years. Since Ogden took over HOA duties we have had many problems.
One area is accounting. Several years ago due to job loss and several concurrent health emergencies in our children and parents we decided to send in quarterly dues early in case we ran out of money and at least our dues would be paid. Ogden could not properly account for these, claiming we never paid and issuing late fees. After much aggravation producing bank records that did receive them and cash them they seemed to finally understand that payments they received and cashed were dues payments even though each payment was for the exact amount of dues.
Now they contacted us that dues were not paid for January 2020 then October 2019 and then again October 2018 with a late fee, and again after much aggravation and after three bank inquiries and showing they received the payments they started making excuses that these were not credited because they were mistaken for fines issued for matters they contacted us about and were taken care of.
They also are making environmental recommendations counter to sustainability and survival of trees and other yard plants in a day of rapid climate change.
We have camera evidence of an employee identified by our local Police through facial recognition tampering with our outdoor home amenities including jumping a fence into our yard and breaking an outdoor table to jump back over for which we are formulating a law suit.
Recently we decided to pay them fines for things we took care of deciding if they are so desperate for money they need it more we do with no incomes and a dying child.
During one telephone inquiry an employee used an unjustified accusatory tone with me when I called about payments they claimed they never received but clearly had through bank records insinuating we were people who did not want to pay despite nothing missed in 12 years and hung up on me. This represents immature unqualified negligent people working at this location.
I will go on to state we have never had any problems with anyone there nor had we ever spoken with this person Justine to take this tone with me for still unclear reason.
Basically this company through a track record of several years demonstrates through their very own actions an inability to perform their duties as an HOA and should have their privileges revoked on the grounds of repeated errors and unethical practices not becoming of a business with the public.
A business is a privilege in America, not a right, and a business must be able to demonstrate an ability to have the temperament, aptitude and expertise to provide the service they claim to offer. This company fails on all accounts and does not serve the community.
I appreciate receiving the concern. I can only respond to the ones specific to the issues with Ogden. I hope the owner was able to work with local police to resolve the individual jumping in to his back yard. As far as the assessment being applied towards the outstanding fines on the account, yes the system did inadvertently apply the recent assessment toward the outstanding $1,350 fine that was comprised of numerous fines for ongoing infractions of the documents. Immediately upon receiving the call from the owner, the issue was researched and corrected. The account became current on assessments, but the fines remained. Ogden only enforces the documents and the Rules & Regulations of the community. We do not create them nor have the ability to waive ongoing fines. Because the violations were ongoing, the Board was not willing to waive the fines. Ogden staff members will inform irate homeowners that calls will be ended if the conversation cannot continue in a respectful manner. In the future, an appeal to waive fines for violations of the community documents must be submitted in writing to the Board of Directors through the community manager. It is suggested that the owner become familiar with the documents and make every effort to comply with the rules of the association to avoid future fines.
This property mgmt co. Does not follow legal mgmt laws. Without letters prior to adding water meters, did not have meetings to vote, warn, or change CCRS of hoa. They are poor on communication with HOA residents, veing rude and highly inconsiderate. Ex: tree from outside property wall, falls on my home. Was told my issue was not important and I would have to wait to have it removed. Sewer left with outside broken pipe for over 10 years. Said it was city's problem and house, neighborhood had raw sewage inside 4 homes and outside by school bus stop. Mgmt co. Has absolutely no soft skills for basic human interaction. Flooded parking lots, rebar sticking out of broken cement, cracked walks, unwatered grounds, swimming pool filled in, without HOA votes...and I can go on and on. 18 yrs of Ogden. Poorly managed and poor mgmt of properties. BE WARY when you consider your options. Check pictures on google reviews.
