***, I have spoken to *** *** in regards to a refund and what happened, we have issued her a refund today Thank you, *** *
Mr. [redacted],We are truly sorry for your frustration. The additional letter at the end of your VIN is a problem that occurs on some vehicles. Since we use what the State of [redacted] gives us we have no control over correcting it. We have contacted the state regarding this problem and we hope they fix it...
soon.We have been having some difficulties with our phone system and I am truly sorry you could not reach us. It is my understanding that both Stacey and [redacted] have called you several times at the number provided. We would love to talk to you and resolve this issue. I will have [redacted] call and email you again today so we work on making this situation better.
Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:At 12:30pm on 5-1-2015 I received a call from [redacted] at###-###-####. She had me review theproblem and looked up my inspection on her system. She insisted this was a state problem andthey should rectify it, though she knew they wouldn’t. She offered to have me revisit the OIClocation on [redacted] and pay a $5.00 fee for a new inspection, which sheexplained would have to be done in its entirety due to the time that elapsedfrom the original inspection. I told herI should not have to pay anything since it was not my fault, and she repliedthat she could not have the inspector work for free. I asked for the owner’s name and number so Icould speak to him but she refused to provide that information, explaining thathe would not talk to customers. She saidshe would call him and see what he suggested and would call me back. I told her I would expect a return callbefore 5:00pm, but she said she could not guarantee that. At 12:55pm on 5-1-2015 [redacted] called and said her bossapproved waving the fee, however I would still need to go through anotherthorough inspection. She told me the[redacted] location was closed but I could go to another location at[redacted] and [redacted], or on [redacted]. I told her I would go to the [redacted] location. Upon arrival at approximately 2:00pm, I wasinformed by [redacted] (the inspector) that the computers were down. After determining that it was a legitimatereason (another customer came in complaining that the Jiffy Lube down thestreet was also down) I gave [redacted] my number and asked him to call me when thecomputer was back up. I went to a cardiorehabilitation class early, then after receiving a call from [redacted], proceeded tohis location and got the inspection paper. He did not charge me anything, but I noticed that the section for theState Fee still showed a $7.50 charge, while the section for the Inspection Fee was $0:00 On 5-4-2015 at around 12:00pm I went to the tax assessorcollector’s office to get my new registration sticker. The clerk mentioned there was a $7.50inspection fee. I explained that I hadalready paid it at the inspection location (a total of $18.00). She informed me that they are not supposed tocharge me there for it. I also told herthat OIS also attempted to charge me for the second inspection to correct theirtypo, and that they blamed the state for all the errors. She said that was wrong and gave me thenumber (###-###-####) to the state inspection office to lodge a complaint. I have not yet done this as I am waiting tosee how this Revdex.com complaint is resolved. I am attaching copies of all the relevantdocumentation. At this point, my desired outcome is either a refund to thecredit card for the double charged inspection fee of $7.50 or well documentedevidence that the $18.00 fee OIS charged me did not in fact include theinspection fee, and they are misrepresenting the items for which they arecharging.
Regards,
