Review: Purchased an expensive telescope from OPT that was damaged and had operational defects. Also several parts were missing.

Notified the retailer promptly, showed them the damage and requested a refund. They deferred me to the manufacturer who bounced me back to OPT.

Next, OPT wanted me to test the telescope, then negotiate an adjusted sell price, or do a refund, if we couldn’t settle.

I complied with their procedure. Exactly as they specified, after testing the scope and noting additional defects, I attempted email and phone contact with OPT to negotiate the disposition of the scope. OPT ignored me for 12 days. When I finally made contact, OPT refused any assistance at all.Desired Settlement: Full refund of $6480 and OPT retrieves the telescope at my California address which is 5 miles from their store.

Otherwise, new sale price of $4000 and replace damaged and missing parts.
