Contracted to have a metal building erected. The building went up ok for the most part but as agreed and per Florida statue I was to receive a waiver of lien for all suppliers and sub contractors. I ended up with a lien on my property for $6700 for concrete not being paid for. They told me tough it's on me. The used a general contractor to pull the permit which I didn't know about or contract with and the concrete guy does most of their buildings. When asked they all claim the concrete was paid which it clearly was not. They are lying and I think hiding behind LLCs and a shell general contractor from what I can see. Very unethical and illegal. The building was paid in full by myself and all checks were cashed and cleared by their company. They didn't notify me of my rights and responsibilities regarding lien releases either which is required by law. They also didn't give me the last page of the contract with their signatures of the copy of the contract. Did't notice until this issue came up and looked everything over.

Other (requires explanation) I want the concrete bill paid and lien removed from my property.
First, we do apologize for the inconveniece. Ocala Steel PAID our concrete contractor, who did NOT pay his concrete supplier.
However, OCALA STEEL PAID the concrete supplier so, OCALA STEEL PAID TWICE.
To be clear, OCALA STEEL NEVER, EVER told Mr ***, "Tuff, its on you". Infact, we assured Mr., we would make sure he would NOT have to pay again AND OCALA STEEL PAID the outstanding balance with the concrete supplier and satisfied the lien.
Also, OCALA STEEL is a legitimate LLC, which can be found on sunbizz.
A release of lien from the concrete supplier has been sent to Mr..
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Only after I filed a complaint with the state and complaint with the Revdex.com did this get resolved. I made final payment on Dec 13th and received a notice to owner for nonpayment on DEC 14th from Cemex. I approached Ocala steel and they assured me it was paid. On Jan 15th a lien was placed upon my property. They assured me it would be paid within a week as I told them I would sue them if they didn't get it paid. The week passed and they claimed they didn't have the money and it was "on me". I then filed a complaint with the state licensing board against the concrete company who did the cement work. The state pursued them and after I submitted all my documents to the state they notified me that Ocala steel enterprises is a unlicensed contractor and is breaking the law and using another company to pull permits. There is an investigation currently that was initiated by the state because of my complaint against the concrete guys.
I received in the mail today 4-1-20 a release of lien. This only happened because of the pressure I put on them through the state to pay. The state person contacted Ocala Steel and they paid the concrete company supplier the next day. Remember the final payment was made 12-13-19 and per contract they were to provide me a release of lien which they did not do. I am satisfied that my lien was resolved but it took much effort on my part and two and a half months since the lien and over three and a half months since final payment and the notice to owner. Is my complaint resolved? Yes, but is it a valid complaint and nobody should have to push as hard as I did to get this resolved. They in their response act like the heroes but they do business with the concrete company on a regular basis and could have withheld payment for another job until the guy paid my concrete bill. They had the power and authority to do so and did not. So you can do what you want with this complaint but it should stay on record. Nobody should have to resort to things like Revdex.com and the state licensing board to get a company to simply do the right thing. I asked for nothing but a building to be built for the agreed price and for them to insure as required by law all sub-contractors and vendors were paid.
