Review: I received an invoice for services for my father, [redacted] [for whom I have POA] we neither wanted or required from Oakwood Health. I had expressed several weeks prior to me actually picking him up, the desire to have my father sent back to [redacted] [his residence since 9/14]. A very real issue was insurance coverage lasting only 21 days. Was aware of this, so made attempts to prevent this situation. I was under doctors orders frm 11/5 thru 11/16/15 and wasn't physically able to go to Oakwood; otherwise, I believe we could have prevented this. I have e-mails dated 11/23 and 12/6 documenting my efforts. I sincerely desired daddy to go back to C.H. even before he was sent from [redacted] Memorial to Oakwood, although I guess it was reasonable for him to be at oakwood for a very short period of time. His "level of function" BEFORE he was admitted to Oakwood was: wheelchair-bound and not able to walk. Consequently, he HAD MET/AND OR EXCEEDED his "prior level of function" within a matter of probably hours or at best a few days at Oakwood. My desire was, again, to have him return to C.H., where staff has always worked closely with me to meet my father's needs.Desired Settlement: To have the charges from centra for $1,732.50 dropped.

Response:
A clinical review of your father's chart was performed and the level of care and the therapies he received were found to be appropriate during his stay. We found no evidence of unwarranted time within the facility. The charges were reviewed and deemed appropriate based on Medicare guidelines.

Response:
I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,
The business has not offered any fair resolution. As stated in my original complaint, I should not have received a bill for services which were not requested nor required. I had communicated my desire to have my father discharged way before the charges being attributed to us were supposedly incurred. Another specific. The business has stated that the charges were deemed appropriate. The charges are clearly inappropriate, in that the one of the determining factors is that my father had met AND exceeded his "prior level of function" pretty much the same day he was admitted to Oakwood!
