I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Upon review, it does appear that Mr. [redacted] was in the dealership and he did inquire about a Ford Explorer. Unfortunately, just prior to his arrival the vehicle had failed our mandatory inspection and the decision was made to wholesale the unit...
at auction rather than risk an unhappy customer. Regarding the credit inquiries on Mr. [redacted]s file, we have a very rigid process here when it comes to compliance. I have a signature on file that was witnessed by my sales person from Mr. [redacted] that authorized a credit request from our lenders. His wife gave her permission and info over the telephone as well. That said, we are sorry we failed to live up to Mr. [redacted]s expectations. Unfortunately, when speaking to one of our telemarketing reps located in Chicago, they are not privy to decisions made within the last few hours. Mr. [redacted] can contact me and I would be happy discuss this matter further if he chooses. Rather than sell a vehicle that would not meet our expectations, we tried to direct Mr. [redacted] to what we thought to be an excellent alternative. Sir/MadamI appreciate your feedback and always try to find a way to help resolve disputes. Unfortunately, this particular scenario was beyond our control. Ms. [redacted] did come to the dealership and we were able to secure conditional financing for her desired purchase. The conditions...
were based on her ability to prove her income, her residence, and to pay the sales tax down on the loan. Again, these are not our requirements but simply a lender who was willing to finance her. Ms. [redacted] was allowed to leave the dealership with the car and did not provide the needed items to the lender within the 30 day time frame allowed. My staff made multiple calls to her in an attempt to reach her, as did the lender. When she did finally come in, she still lacked the needed documents. When we asked her to provide additional items, she suggested returning the car. In our effort to please her, we accepted it and I refunded her money to her personally. As far as her previous loan is concerned, we do not recommend customers returning vehicles to anyone. If Ms. [redacted] had been willing to trade her car and provide the needed investment to do so, we would have been happy to help with that. At Carwise we strive to help all customers, regardless of credit. If Ms. [redacted] can provide to me the needed items for the lender who approved her, she can still buy a vehicle here.
