Review: Mr. Smith, owner of business, provided me with a contract to renovate a small bathroom in my home to which I accepted (signed contract date is Jan. 9, 2013). The job began quickly and efficiently with the tear out and reconstruction of walls. I noticed a few strange things as I discussed materials for finished bathroom but thought it's just the way construction goes. I hoped the job would be near finished when I returned from a trip on Feb. 17th but it seems things came to a very slow pace. Soon after, it became very difficult to get in touch with Doug Smith and he scheduled two visits to my home and never showed up. Finally, he told me he ran out of money (after he'd been paid over $15,000). I couldn't understand this. I found out as the days went on that NONE of the faucets and lights had been ordered and sub-contractors were not paid. The sub-contractors put in the tile shower and floors and granite countertops. I had to pay the sub-contractors the rest of their $3000 fee. Now I sit here on March 27, 2013 and haven't spoken to Doug in three days after a few attempts. I have paid out a total of $18,000 and have no faucets, lights, the tub and toilet are not installed, along with a list of other things that need to be complete. I have left him a message stating I will have someone else finish the job (since my calls aren't being answered at the moment). Buyers beware of this company!!!!Desired Settlement: I do not trust Doug Smith in my home and I CERTAINLY wouldn't trust his word that he would return. I will have to find a trustworthy person to finsih with the little money I have left.
