Oak Valley Community Bank Reviews (3)

We regret any inconvenience the customer has experienced. Since the check deposited was drawn on a foreign bank, a temporary hold is placed on the funds until the bank has received verification from the issuing bank to confirm the check is valid and the funds are available We understand
the customer’s frustration with the timeframe to receive access to their funds; unfortunately as the receiving bank we have no control over when we will receive credit.Tell us why here

I am rejecting this response because: the bank in question failed to fully inform me, the customer, of how long it would take for the check to be deposited attempted to get the check back from them, but was told it was too late to do so. I then was told buy a manager at the bank that I could be credited the face value of the check until the full amount could be given when the check cleared. Then 2 hours later a different manager called me and told me that this was not the bank policy. I have sent found out that the bank can do this, because I am a new customer they didn't want to take the risk on me. I was told that because I was a new customer and I did not have a large amount of fun in the account that I was a risk. I was insulted by this comment. I have nothing further to say other then the bank in question needs to counsel they're tellers/employees,  to not make offers to their customers that they cannot make good on. this is bad business in my opinion and as soon as my funds are available to me, whistle be closing my accounts. and I will let anyone and everyone I know to never bank at Oak Valley Community Bank!

Review: I am a new customer to Oak Valley Community Bank. I deposited a foreign check in the amount, in US dollars, that would total close to $5000. When I deposited the check, never was I informed of how long it would take for the funds to be deposited into my account. I'll repeat that, never was I informed. I spoke to the bank customer service manager who attempted to contact the UK bank to verify funds. The UK bank would not release that information. I had asked to have my check returned to me but I was told that because it was in the collections process I could NOT have my check back so that I may deposit it at a local International Bank, like Bank of America. The Oak Valley Bank manager told me today that her bank WOULD credit my account for the face value of the check since we knew that it would be more than the face value just not the exact amount, for which I agreed. 2 hours later I got a call from another bank manager informing me that it is NOT Oak Valley Community Bank policy to do so. My question is... if it wasn't the banks policy to do this, then why was this ever offered to me? Why do I feel like my money is being held hostage? First I was wronged when I had deposited my check, that NO ONE gave me the proper information that I was entitled to, even when I asked for it. Then I was wronged again, when I was told that I may get part of what I was owed and then told two hours later it's not policy. I feel like my check has been held hostage I feel that I have been wronged in many different ways. As a new customer, I have serious reservations as to what type of business Oak Valley Community Bank does.Desired Settlement: I want my funds rightfully deposited into my account as they should have been a week ago..
