Review: We should have received our entire $500 security deposit from Oak Farm Vineyards, but only received half ($250, and reluctantly so) because "hard alcohol" was brought in by a few guests. Nowhere in the contract does it say that the security deposit will be forfeited for the presence of alcohol. It has also come to our attention that this is not the first time that Oak Farm has committed such an act. We got in contact with someone who had a nearly identical review about Oak Farm, so it appears as if this isn't the first time they've done this to their customers. By statute, Oak Farm may only withhold funds from our security deposit forback rent, to repair damages to the premises, or to clean the premises([redacted] Civil Code section 1950.7(c)). Oak Farm is required to returnour security deposit to us within 30 days ([redacted] Civil Code section1950.7 (c)(3)). The bad faith retention by Oak Farm of our security deposit, would subject them to an additional penalty of $200.00 ([redacted] CivilCode section 1950.7(f)).Oak Farm has breached the RENTAL AGREEMENT and violated our rights under thestatute. Oak Farm has violated our rights pertaining to the securitydeposit as established and protected by [redacted] Civil Code section1950.7, and Oak Farm has made unfair business practices as prohibited byBusiness and Professions Code sections XXXXX, et seq.Oak Farm Vineyard's behavior and business practices were unprofessional and dishonest. After attempting to contact them with this information, they refused to respond to any further contact. It should also be noted that Oak Farm prematurely cut off our guests from the alcohol behind the bar (lying to guests, telling them there was no more left when there was plenty remaining). They also constantly instructed our DJ to lower the music levels (early in the evening) despite the fact that San Joaquin County requires loud music to be lowered by 10 PM.
