Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2014/06/17) */ As it states in the tenants lease agreement any deposit disputes are between the owner and the tenant so they have filed this against the wrong partyThat being said, upon doing a move out inspection the grass area in dispute was dead except for a small section.The owner did not know that this had been redone by the tenants because you could not tellThe tenants had moved and did not turn in keys so it was 4/3/when they told us that keys were on the counter(supposed to turn into office)so apparently from the time they moved to the time we got out there the utilities were off and yard was not getting water.The owner was doing work out there to get the home ready for a new tenant and so there was a delay in being able to reply to their disputeWe did tell them however that we were forwarding the dispute to the owner and he was working on it The owner did compromise and ended up letting them know that he would go ahead and not charge them for the sod or the dumpster for the additional yard cleanup of weeds etcthat had to be done and that he would give them an additional deposit refund for that portionWe are still waiting to receive paperwork from them to complete this refund Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (2000, 7, 2014/06/23) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I am satisfied with their response as we are being refunded the amount taken for putting in new sod and removing dead sodHowever, they had their own set of the keys to the house, so us not turning them into the office had no effect on the outcome to the grassAlso, the grass had to be watered by hand as there were no sprinklers so the utilities being off had no effect as well (I didn't even close my account for the water until the beginning of April anyways)We are awaiting our check for our refund, and have been assured that we will be receiving it soon
