Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:First of all, My daughter is under my care at that time despite her being yoHer dental insurance is under me and therefore I am responsible for herBefore this treatment was agreed upon, the staff talked to ME and consulted ME with this including the payment options I agreed to the installment payments taken out of my credit card after the proposed estimate was given to meMy daughter consented to the proposed treatment only after I agreed to the payment planThe staff is aware of that for they took the money off of my credit cardYes , the staff disclosed the full amount of payment to me and I understand that it was an estimateBut how could a business be quoting a client with a specified amount of payment responsibility, do the procedure, and then turn around and say that the client owes almost twice the amount of what the client already paid for?? Every business I have with dealt with gives their client an estimate of patient responsibility before every procedureI submitted to O'fallon Dental Care my dental insurance card and I do not believe that it is my responsibility to scrutinize my dental insurance carrier as to what they pay and how much It is the business' responsibility to be the client advocate to check with the insurance company and provide this service to their client I gave them my insurance card and with that in their possession, the staff should have checked and obtained an accurate (or close to accurate) quote as to how much is my actual out-of-pocket cost is EVERY DENTAL PLACE I KNOW CHECKS AND GIVES THEIR CLIENTS A (CLOSE TO) ACCURATE QUOTE OF PATIENT OUT-OF-POCKET RESPONSIBILITYDo you think that I would have agreed to have the procedure done if I would have known that my out-of-pocket was $1068?? My quoted out-of-pocket cost is $divided into monthly paymentsTHREE MONTHLY PAYMENTS! My dental insurance said I am supposed to pay only $and that the In-network fee for the procedure was $O'fallon Dental Care charged $So where is the breakdown of communication here? Should O'Fallon Dental Care have checked with the Insurance to verify the coverage before quoting the client? O'fallon Dental Care stated that they are not part of Maveris They knew that and still proceeded with the claim and didn't mention this to me when I was given the quoteShould they have checked that first before even proposing a payment plan? Ofallon Dental Care knew that they were not part of Maveris and still went on to continue with the quoteTell me...HOW IS THIS FAIR AND JUST ??I believe that this is a misrepresentation of services and that is unfair to me Sure I signed the consent (and so will every client that is presented a treatment plan) but what I signed was misleadingLike what I said, I would not have a problem if the out-of-pocket cost was off by a few dollarsBut to be off almost twice the quoted out-of-pocket?? That just doesn't seem right at all!! Sincerely, [redacted]
